Sig Sauer 1911 stainless Target ( Range report March 10th )

I have Sig and Colt...the Sig is nicer...that'd be my pick. with that said...I'm also looking at Dlask to do some work (mating one of his frames to a Colt National Match barrel/slide I acquired). We'll see about that sometime this year.

Sig , Sti , Kimber , Dlask ...... etc . Norinco if it is under $ 500 . We should all be focusing on supporting North American and European economies .

I have both STI Trojan .40 and Kimber Stainless TLE II and close to that price. Also can't go wrong with Smith & Wesson .45.

Might as well start saving for your high end 1911...it's inevitable. Waiting on my Nighthawk Falcon and a Les Baer or Ed Brown is next. :)

Yeah I have an order with dlask for a barrel and other stuf for my SR22... I will see how the Q.C is on that stuff...

So far alot of votes for the SIG... Man this is worste then buying a truck... The more i look into it the harder it gets to make a choice

Might Have to make a Poll and let CGN decide my next pistol....

I know the Dan wesson Valor is what I should be getting but I dont want to drop 2g's on a gun thats a range toy....

I say spend the 2 G on the Valor. It's easy for me to sit here and spend someone else's money but in the whole scheme of things what's another 7 or 8 hundred bucks on a quality 1911 that you will probably keep forever? Furthermore if you decide to sell the Valor it will fetch roughly 700 bucks more than the used Sig will. Just playing the devil's advocate.....;).

If it is your first 1911 then I say start with a norc. Here is why:

To appreciate what a 1911 is you must learn what it isn't. If you start with a les baer you will love it, but not as fully as if you had taken your time moving up the foodchain. When it comes to 1911 I encourage people to work their way up.

Also, along the same lines, for 1200 you could customize a norc as you learn what you like and don't like and it will be a vast improvement over a stock 1911 that is 1200 or under. Imho. Downside: you can't resell the customized norc for near what it costs you to build. I have one I am into for about 1100 and I will be very lucky to get 750 for it. Most likely I will just keep it as it is doubtful others would value the improvements the same way whereas my vbob could probably be sold tomorrow for 50 bucks less than I paid.

LOL.

You guys haven't go on any american 1911 forums? They bash Kimber big time. SIG will also limit your holster choice which is a big minus for me.

STI Trojan for me.

For the numbers that have some complaints about their Kimbers, there are many more that have had flawless reliability and accuracy. Me included. I have had more issues with my Trojan, but likely due to crappy stock magazines.
