MDT system

My friend purchased an MDT Tac21 short action chassis from Mystic Precision (Jerry).
We put it together last week. It goes together well and looks very nice.

I have 2 criticisms about the chassis. The first is if the easy function of the safety is important to you then you will need to make an extended safety lever for it.
Secondly although the finish of the chassis looks nice it seems to mar quite easily.

the safety issue was planned so it could not be snagged in a crawl

as far as finish mine will be painted asap;)

Won't be $2200

Well, you're absolutely correct. It's more! Laugh2

Seriously, I'm going to stand up and applaud the first guy that pulls the trigger on one of these for a custom rifle and shows it here on CGN. Mad props. Mad, mad props will go to that man.

Just a CGN member doing a custom build? No mad props for anyone else buying them?

Do you seriously see someone spending $2,300 on a stock so they can use it with an econo SPS factory rifle? I think not. If you're going to pony up the cash for this stock, you're doing so because you presumably want the best, right? If that's the case, then you could make a fair assumption that the purchaser already has a customized barrelled action to install or they're doing a build.

6 months ago I told you guys the Cadex chassis would be 2200-2400$ (civi ) and 1800$ for MIL... I guess I was the nugget back then.

I met the guys over cadex 1 year ago while they where exporting the frames for the new US rifle. It's 30 minutes form my work BTW... Told you guys. Cadex is very high quality no doubts. But you will have to pay for it. I honestly hope you guys sell a few.

Thinking about one for myself next summer. No worries I will go get it directly at the factory...

maybe just maybe they told him(the dealer) it would be under 2k, how many times a day do you think Darren hears some "insider" info? I bet you would be shocked ,I have never seen him treat anyone like a idiot ,not even me( if you met me you would understand):D

on the price...well I would guess a few will sell..... but I would guess it will go over like that other chassis did on the Hide

some guys mount 2500 plus scopes on factory guns

I didn't say it wasn't possible, just highly unlikely. Your analogy is a poor one. Great optics are never a bad investment even on a factory rifle. If it's one place you could make an argument for spending that amount of money on a factory rifle, it's optics.

but a stock that fits is a good investment in my eye too, but i dont think many of these will sell at that price
