Who is going to give Classic a try?

I have posted same question with poll on ON IPSC forum and there is very little interest. I am interested to try as a side match.
I think what we need to do is to organize a match with emphasize on CD or make unofficial ON IPSC SS Championship :)

It's a new division, production and Standard were the same when they started. Lots of folks don't know about the new division yet, I have seen a number at matches shooting SS guns but not registered as such in the results. If you have a 1911, get out and shoot it, why wait to see who's already running one or how many are registered. If everyone waits for someone else to do it, it'll never happen.

You right, but is always better to get organized and coordinate a match or so. I am a crazy 1911 guy. Just like the design and for me CD or SS in US is what has started all this IPSC and because I respect Mr Jeff Cooper I will shoot it.

I will try to sign up for Aurora Match and will bring my 1911, game?

You have to ask? Bring it biotch...lol!

Kent, I am with you on that.
Have both in one division for unofficial championship match, like old good days in .70s

Just for that, lets have a look at the '70's:

Note the references to race holsters and comp guns...

be nice if there was a more defined set of rules, and one that isnt so arbitrary. ie: no square trigger guard but bull barrels ok, are sight tracker setups ok? all the rules say is have the shape of a classic 1911 (btw that would mean no sig 1911s... again wtf?)

Last I saw square trigger guards are good to go as are thumb shields (no thumb ledges)
Most of the rules are pretty good, the biggest deviation from the US rules is the allowance of bull barrels and no frame rails. I find that a bit odd since bull barrels are not that common in SS 1911's but there are lots of railed guns out there.
Also the US has a 17 year head start on the rules and tweaking them, this is IPSC's first attempt, let's see how it plays out.

Alberta has already held a L2 match where there were enough shooters (5) to recognize Classic Division.

My 1911 has a Wilson Combat extended mag release and Wilson Combat extended slide release. I also have a HiViz front sight. Could I still shoot this in classic?
