You can try Griz358, a member here, or watch ebay. A seller by the name of Pallet13 has had them on there a few times. They usually go for around $35.00

I'm in the "geezer" class (70+) and have owned Cooeys since my teens. I have three, a model 75, 78 & 82 and wouldn't part with them. My favourite is the model 78 with peep sight on rear and target sight on front and I'm in the same scoring class in my gun club at 25 meters as others with their $500 toys. One of the top shots is using a Cooey with peep sights. 'nuff said?

Yeah, I picked up another model 78 with the peep sight last fall. I only got to try it once before winter. I took it out the way I received it and there was about a 20 mph wind that day. It still put 10 shots within a 3/4" circle at 25 yards with bulk Winchester ammo.

I had one when I was a kid.
Missing the rear sight elevator and the single shot had the use the
finger nail to pull out the spent casing.
My dad gave it to one of my cousins.
Gone, gone, gone.
Need to find one to fill the gap.
Gonna name it Grampa.................

I'm part of the Cooey fan-club...

I'm guessing one of the reasons there's so much typed about them now is that there are soooooooo many of them!

I don't see the same "Lakefield-hype" or "Naaco-fury", so it's not just Canadiana. They were affordable,utilitarian.

I'd like to see "Cooey-passion" as nostalgic of the "old days". When I was growing up, most homes had a Cooey behind the door...even the non-hunting folks might have one for garden/birdfeeder security. A much better time...

What is it with all the interest in .22 Cooeys?

In my early hunting years(early '70s), those that couldn't afford to by a gun,

bought a Cooey, be it a shotgun or .22.

Is it just nastolgia?

My first gun was a cooey repeater I've had it since I was 10 I'm over 60 now and it is my most prized gun it is also the cheapest but I still feel it is as accurate as any gun i own. There is a grave yard full of gophers somewhere to testify to its accuracy. Magi

My interest in Cooey is that a few months ago, I paid $56 (taxes included) at a local gun store for my model 60, have probably fired 200+ rounds from it without a single issue, it groups well at 100 yards with iron sights, and I haven't even cleaned it. The only issue is that it's missing the bolt knob, I haven't gotten around to trying to find one or making one up on the lathe.

I have a 30+ year old cooey in the safe i pull out from time to time, cleaned it once.... BAD mistake it didn't like that very much lol, fixed her up and shot about 500 round in it since, great gun, model 600, wouldn't get rid of it ever.

my first one was a 16ga from my dad. came out of some farmers yars years ago. second mod 600 a guy from work sold me. now i am hooked. cheap fun something to work on without spending too much cash and then CANADIAN made. I bought a beat up 39 and fixed it just to teach my friends son to shoot since my friend has no license...

My math was wrong on my first post(brain freeze ). The 600 came out in 1967 so they are 33 to 45 years old. The 1967 model will have no serial number.
