I have been around rifles and guns my whole life, and now I want to get or build a long range rifle. I want black, tactical, adjustable rear stock , light weight, bipod, rails, and bolt action with a clip. I was hoping to get a 308. I want to beable to buy rounds local. (ie: Canadian Tire, Walmart) I am in Nova Scotia, Canada. I don't have a lot of money to put into it all at once. Maybe something I can upgrade or something I can buy a part here and there for.

Anyone have any ideas to help me out and or pics?

Eastcoast, where are you to, as they say on occassion in the East? I invite you to Bull Meadow and can send copy of schedule. The reason is that target rifle shooters often know what's available and an advantage of being in NS is that prices are lower due to us being rather, politely, parsimonious.

Additionally, we have knowledge in various shooting discilpines and are generally a welcoming group.

This is by far your best option.

One thing you can do is go back through some of the past posts. There will be lots of pics and opinons. Lots of good stuff there. I'd tell you to do a search but I know there's a goldmine of info there and you don't have to go back to far to find it.

For example, pick a random page (10) and http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=666216

Take a few days to do some reading, You'll be more focused on what you think you'll want. I'd say take Peter up on his offer before you spend any money. I noticed you mentioned Tactical. If you plan on shooting it then remember that when you buy. I had a really cool rifle once...hated shooting it though.

Visit my website for articles that can help with your journey.

6mmbr.com has guns of the week section where there are 100 rifles you can draw inspiration from.

Sniperhide will have tons of examples of all manner of tactical kit.

Start with your budget and goals and work backwards from there. Prices can range from moderate to extreme.

If you can, consider reloading. There is nothing that will improve ANY rifle then feeding it ammo that it likes. If you are on a budget, reloading is the only way to afford quality ammo. Most commercial ammo is not the most accurate (could get lucky) and very expensive in the long run.

Lots of solutions. Just define the question and you will get answers.

I am in the Pictou County area of Nova Scotia

Looking for an adjustable rear stock like on the C7A2 but with an adjustable cheek piece aswell.

Something like this

I also like the style of stock on this one

or even something like on a sniper rifle.

Yeah I like that but I don't like that nob on the pistol grip. Yeah thats what I am looking for something like that.

I'm building 4 of these right now in various configurations in .308, .260:

The beauty part is it starts out as a 500$ remington sps rifle. Easy to add parts and build it gradually or go on the payment plan

Savage Model: 10/110 BA
308 WIN
Sku: 19125
Handed: Right
Rate of Twist: 10
Weight: 13.4 lbs
Overall Length: 45.5"
Barrel Length: 24"
Ammo Capacity: 10 round(s)
MSRP: $2218.00

I am not sure the difference between the model 10 and the model 110? But $2218.00 is a lot of cash!

Man that is sweet! What's that stock? Can it fit on a 700 5r? And how much? Haha
