Mossberg 22 Tactical. 22LR, 25 shot mag

I too have been searching for more of these. Mine works great, havent had any issues yet. I am finding it very hard to find these mags tho.

after a few months of trying to find these, I happened to walk into my local small town fishing and outdoors (do not sell guns, but do sell ammo) store. I picked up a few boxes of 12ga shells, and noticed that they had a mag for a 10/22 by the till. I asked if they could get the 25 shot mag for a mossberg .22 tactical, and he happened to have them IN STOCK! and for $1 cheaper than anyone else I found...lol

FYI, I bought 2, 1 works great, 1 jams A LOT. I need to try to tweak it a bit.

I have a mossberg tactical 22, in a 25 shot mag. I have three issues with the gun so far from my experience shooting it.
1. The magazine has a loose feel when fully inserted in the gun,
2. To strip the gun apart can be a little bit of a pain because of the screws on the polymer shell. ( especially if you have attachments on the gun)
3. Not sure if it is because of low grade .22lr ammo I'm using, but I am experiencing a lot of failure to eject and failure to load. ( I use the bulk boxes of 525 rounds blazers)

mine worked well when clean, worked poorly after 200 rounds, collected junk fast.

i sold it, it just felt too junky, i hated how the case is literally like a toy, the plastic sites were poor.

yea i've heard it's important to try premium .22lr with that mossberg.

I would rather spend a bit more and get a nicer rifle then spend more money on consumable ammo.

I have 2 of the 25 shot mags and the 10 shot that came with it. One of the 25 shot mags worked flawlessly, one constantly jammed. I did a bit of tweaking with it, and it seems to be alright now. Other than the mag issue, I have never had a problem with the gun though. I cleaned it when I got it, and have since put about 900 rounds through it. It doesn't even seem to be that dirty. Although I agree about it feeling cheap, and being difficult to strip and that the mags always are a bit loose.

All I have ever used is cheap ammo for it.

its a nice tactical .22 for the money, but do not expect it to be as good as an SR-22

over the life youll save if you buy an sr22, use whatever ammo you like, dont have to clean it everytime you shoot off 150 rounds, save on patches, solvent, ammo. And the sr22 is only like 200 more

Is the Sr-22 classified as a restricted firearm?

I've got a Mossberg .22 Tactical. Works great for me. Seems to be a fan of high-velocity round nosed ammunition. The mags jiggle a bit when inserted but, that hasn't caused me any issues yet.

I haven't had any trouble finding mags, seems just about every retailer carries them. It's a nice, cheap, M4ish .22. Great for plinking, squirrel hunting and letting noobs get a feel for firearms before moving them up to the larger calibers.

I've had a lot of luck with the bulk 525 Federal in my Mossberg. Winchester's seemed to be nearly non-functional in it, with FTF's occurring every other round (bullet gets bent in the brass and jams). The Federal has the occasional maybe 1 in a 100 hiccup but it's hardly noticeable.

In terms of the 25rd mags being loose I simply applied a small 1cm wide, 1-2mm thick strip of adhesive foam weather sealing, works perfectly.

The benefit of the "cheap plastic" Mossberg versus a beautiful .22 AR to me is the fact that it's non-restricted and I can use it at the range or in a field blasting gophers.

Eventually I do plan on buying an actual AR and have a .22LR upper for it, because this doesnt scratch the itch; it only delays the desire a bit.

All in all it's cheap and fun for everyone to shoot.

X2 on Federal 525 it LOVES IT!.

CCI 40grain solid works amazing.

American Eagle 38gr Copper Plated HP works excellent!

Winchester bulk hollow points, absolute garbage!

I butchered my feed ramp adjusting it for other bullet types and it just does NOT like flat nosed ammo.

Round nose and anything coming to a decent point feeds really well.

I fire around 300-600 rounds every day or every other day with my Mossberg Tactical at the range and only clean it every 3-4k rounds.

I get maybe 10 FTE's out of 1000 rounds so that's pretty damn good for a rimfire in my books.

I do get the rare FTL but alas is operator error and even the manual says don't bump the magazine or anything while firing, my bad.

Here's what I have done to mine.

Flat topped it myself, removed the front sight, flipped the RIS as lower factory rail was slightly undersized. 3-9x Redfield Revolution Scope, NcStar Light/Laser combo and folding vertical fore grip.

Still need to shorten my flat top rail to proper length then clean up the body plastic around it.

Here is one of my targets.

Federal 525 36grain hollow points
17yard indoor.
Standing position, 3 25 round mags fired as fast as I can.

Paint job is on the way when I get all the plastic body work complete.

BACK ON TOPIC.

When are you expecting the back order to come in??
