Been doing a lot of reloading lately, built a nice .223 load with 55gr Armscor and WC735, rolled up 50rnds of Nosler 190gr CC over R22 to test in my new .300wm, lots of 10mm and soon to start a big batch of 9mm! but its not as if I didn't have enough on my plate already, Jerry AKA Mystic Precision shipped me my Promag mount a short while ago...

....sigh....

I have actually been wanting an optic mount for my M14 for quite some time now and have done a few of the regular tweaks to my rifle such as the NEA guide and mag release, a little devcon in just the rite places and green locktite in others... I have poured several hundred MFS and a few boxes of federal 150sp thru her with excellent results out to 300M on my 12" gong but without glass on her it felt more like luck then anything...

I actually got off to a bad start, I bought a brand new set of RCBS die's to get things rolling and ended up sticking the first case in the FL die so hard I had to buff it out with a die grinder and all most destroyed the die in the process! But lesson learned and problem solved.

Loads to be tested are from 38.5gr to 44.0gr H4895 topped with 168gr SMK with WLR primers in commercial cases seated to about as long as the mag will allow, once I find what I'm looking for my new .308 conversion kit for the 650 is going to get well used cranking out target fodder and a few hundred rounds of tracer ;)

Ahhhh yes... So now she sits back in the safe... Locktite drying... Waiting for Saturday morning... Ready to teach me yet another lesson...

I am a bit worried however my windage knob will take a beating... Have cycled a few empty brass thru her and they seem to miss the knob but who knows what live fire will bring...

....###y beast she is.

Have a great weekend! :D

If you're building a load, don't forget to look at PRVI 150 grain FMJs. Mystic has them for $225 per 1000 and my M14s has turned in a 5 shot 1.125" group @ 100 yards with them.

I have the same setup as you (10x bushnell and arms 22 mount?) your knob will take the occational hit but it occurs only rarly and does not leave much for marks.

Haha breech lock challenger in the background, I love that press.

Not a breech lock just the original challenger... It works as good as the dies you stuff in it :D

That's a relief... I may put a wrap of hockey tape on the knob just to soften the blow.
It's a promag arms 18 knockoff but very well built, scope is the bushy x10 tactical... This glass has been on every rifle I own... Money well spent.

Oh I plan on it!... Have several hundred rounds to test this weekend and 2 whole days off to do it! Yay.

I have been thinking how I'm going to build a load that shoots along the same line as my 147gr tracer, I might have to try the prvi and see what happens... SMK's aren't exactly cheap these days :-/

Are the Toronto Maple Leafs going to win the Stanley Cup?

....foozball is da debbil Bobbie!

I have as much interest in sports as I do in laying on my back drunk whilst being knut kicked repeatly by obese men slatherd in oil wearing black leather thongs tossing my cookies into the air... Catching it back in my mouth and swallowing it again... All the while listening to Allanis morriset's "jagged little pill".... While a midget in a large novelty cowboy hat takes pictures and posts them online.

The answer to are tracers legal is YES

Everything was going so good....

Note to self.. Work on breathing

Group #2 same ammo as above, 3/4" spread but lots of up and down...

About 50rnds into load testing my oprod guide came loose :(
But I think around 43gr H4895 is going to be the magic number, 38.5gr shot really well too.

Groups stopped going up and down once I realized what was going on but shortly after started going left to right... About then I noticed the oprod guide came loose... That's the second time now... More locktite and hatching are needed I guess.

The Promag mount is excellent, diddent budge all day.... No marks on my scope turret and no FTE or jams of any sort... Might try again tommorow... Pretty sure I can hold under an inch if I can keep my teeth from chattering.... Brrrr
