I know we can buy the bigger brother 686 with 4.2" barrel in SS but I would like the 586 in blue. Anyone?

Well, the 586 just came back into production this year. So perhaps S&W will release a 4.2 inch of it. Before this, I don't think S&W ever made a 4.2 inch, unless somebody modified it themselves.

Some of the 4 inch barrels came in just over 105 mm making them restricted. As such is the ase with the one at Armco. Original barrel, and restricted. Check it out

Just my luck No! they screwed me arround after I made a fair offer, I offered $1040 just so everyone knows. They told me I dickered their price HA. Now they are on my NO black list, deleted site to look at. No spams please. Please pm if anyone else. Thanks

Um.......Errrrr.........Hmmmmmmm...........TWK

If you're talking about offering them $1040 on the $1049 new 4.2 inch 686's, I'd probably tell you to go pound sand too. Nine dollars? grow the f*ck up.

Lets be clear, it was the used 586 re-registered one, and i replied to their email offer within couple hours. It took them 2 days to tell me they sold it after I kept emailing. Big boys don't cry Enefgee maybe u would, we just get other toys. Well today I am going to Epps to look at new 686 with the 4.2" for well under thousand with taxes in! Later boys ; )

Dude, it's not an auction, the first guy who says I'll take it and is qualified gets it at the advertised price. The fact they wouldn't dump the original buyer for a higher offer that came in later isn't exactly a bad thing (many of us would call it honourable). Realistically speaking it doesn't matter when they inform you that you weren't the first qualified guy, (within reason). I hope to hell you don't end up in any of the gunshops out here - they'll love you right out the door.

This was Armco man, You came out good without sending them your money :D Stay away.

OK just got back from EPPS, done deal, $945 taxes in & including shipping, as usual nice to deal with. Even my wife and daughter like the piece. One surprise, it now comes with an action/trigger miniature key just like the Judge but its on the side beside the cylinder release. Quality was nice S&W just too bad no longer made in blue.

As mentioned earlier, they just started making the 586 recently. They will be in Canada sometime in 2012... Shoot your 686 for a few months and then sell it to buy the 586 if blue'd guns are your thing.

Congrats on your new purchase

Good for you! That key lock is what's referred to as a Hillary hole...[can't imagine why...] The L-frames are probably my favorite S&W revolvers, with the N-frames a very close second. I wish they made an L-frame in 10mm...

Heh...I just picked up a Smith 581 through EE for half the price of your new 686. Prohib, of course, but that's okay with me. I'm hoping for some happy news when I [very carefully] measure the barrel...

Good one, I wish I had a prohib but maybe one day Harper will do a miracle for us. I just enjoy the "OLD" blue, a little warmer to shoot, but SS has some advantages too. Oh well lets just play and enjoy.
