re-doing my 1943 enfeild

I don't care how bad it was. Please Give it some Dignity. 
Just throwing this out there, but I have a bubba'd No1 Mk3* that has had some dovetails brazed onto the receiver - scoping these rifles isn't really my thing but I'll swap you if you're interested in hunting with it.
That way you can mod it to your heart's content and I'm sure no one here will think less of you for it - feedback might be a little more positive that way, too....
We could start a "what would you do" thread pretending that Norinco started making Smellies that we could mod to our heart's content, lol.
We can swap pics of these girls to see who's hotter
and come up with a fair deal
(and I don't have a No4 yet so I need one anyway...)

does anyone know if theres any dealer that sell full wood sets for enfeilds? know that i have my hunting/target shooting rifle i want a re-furbed one just like it was new, a family freind (same one i got this one from) might have a few more lying around that i could buy. and if i get full wood will it make the rifle worth more?

This rifle now that its painted it wont but if you have another one that has good bluing and is matching with full wood it will double the value. A full wood No4 is worth 300-400.
not this one, it would be for another wich is in %100 perfect shape with around 10 shots trough it, just the stock was shortend for a recoil pad and forearm was roughly sporterized. if i decide to buy it i want to refinish it like new.

dude, i just said that i was looking at a bubbad one that i want to restore! i dont want to paint the one i might be getting, its just the wood thats messed up on the other one so i want to see if its even worth it to restore one. thats all i want to know.
IMHO, if you want to restore it to full wood in order to make a profit (add value) you will not be able to. Mainly because in order to restore to full wood, you don't only need the wood, you also need a bunch of others hard to find metal screw, band, swivel thingy, etc.
If you want to restore it and enjoy it as it is suppose to be (full wood) then by all means do so, but don't expect to "add value" to it.

There was many finishes that came on the enfield rifles one was [black] stoving/paint over park that the English used others were oil blacking,bluing,park,etc.
I see you took your pics off so i haven't had a chance to look at it if you could send some pics i would like to see it.
I can hook you up with some links where you can get you parts to bring it back to life for this one and maybe the other you may get.
If you change your mind later you can remove that stoving/paint by cleaning all the metal parts with oven cleaner it will remove everything but the bluing if it has any.
If you need some help feel free i am sure there is others on here that will help also but remember to have fun with it they are alot of fun and have a look all there own when your done.

Dont get discourged with everyone saying its a bad idea. Its your rifle and you can do whatever you want to it. Ill be posting a rifle in a couple months that im sure not everyone will like but its my rifle so I can do what I want to it.
