Does anyone know how many of those hit the market when they were discovered back in the day? I remember when they came on the market at the gun shows. At that time, they were selling for $250. new in the cosmoline, and they sold very well indeed. I was just curious if any of you folks know for a fact how many of them were imported back to Canada. The rumour I heard was that they were found in a NATO warehouse in Belgium.

There were a lot of them.

When I bought mine, if you bought 10 of them, they went for $65 each. If you bought one, they went for $90 each.

That was 1981.

They were some of the best Lee Enfield built on the No4 MkI design.

They actually were released in several small batches and most of them were sold out of country, from what I can find out about them.

Slightly OT - but I'm very interested in collecting any L B serial numbers - nothing sinister, I promise - no names, just numbers and calibre [if converted to 7.62x51 like the one I found this morning] :=(.]

PM's if you're shy.

TIA

Here's a list of 12 late LB serial numbers from a sticker which I removed from the outside of a shipping crate for 12 rifles; 91L5626, 91L5656, 91L6941, 92L5177, 92L6953, 93L0955, 94L0885, 94L1413, 94L1570, 94L2393, 94L2860, 94L3699.
Unfortunately I only got the cookie jar and not the cookies:(. I wonder where they are now?

The last batch of Surplus LB No.4 Rifles from Belgium was imported by Districorps in Montreal, unfortunately they are no longer in Business so no way of finding out how many they brought in.
