Danish M1D- what's a good price?

Generally the sum of parts. Most M1D's are put together with surplus parts and unless sold directly from the Civilian Marksmenship Program (CMP) there is no way to determine whether one is legit or put together.

Less than 10,000 really made and many destroyed.

About $2500-4000 Canadian Prices and less in the US.
 
The Danes did use M1Ds which they received from the US. A number of these were imported into Canada and sold here without any involvement of the US CMP program. These are either Springfield or Winchester make. They will be fitted with the unique M1D barrel and a M84 scope and mount. In some cases the Danes marked their M84 scopes with a serial/inventory number as well as with a Crown and FKF marking.

There is no such thing as a "matching M1D". All M1Ds were conversions of existing rifles, so any combination of US made parts would be possible. It is also possible that the Danes would have used Breda and Beretta Garand parts as spares to maintain rifles in service. The Danes never made any of the unique M1D barrels.

No, that was a Danish M1D that sold for $3500 on the EE.

Zefarm sold one (Danish M1D) for $3600 a few years back when he was in business.
 
Once upon a time prices for M1D

S Korean with accessories, no scope. VG to Ex - $500
Danish with M84 scope & accessories VG to Ex - $500 - $600

Should have bought these as RRSP instead of Nortel or RIM stock.
 
went for $2750. snooze ya lose.

but, was more than i could justify... then again, what can i justify? ; )
 
we bought 15 in a crate from distracorp back in the day i have one left and so does my buddy ..all were in awesome condition with all the accessories ..499.00 each lol..
 
Yeah, makes me sad. I bought my danish m1 for 400. The vendor asked me if I wanted a sniper, and I couldn't imagine paying the 600 dollar price tag.

I'm still happy I got an M1 garand with a sweet var varrel, but I wish I bought 10 of those dang M1D's.
 
There were other nations besided Denmark/Korea that used M1Ds.

Holland, Norway and even Canada had some.

Norway sold theirs to International quite a while ago and Canada sold off all of her Garand stuff to Denmark.

I don't know about Holland or what she did with theirs.

There was quite a discussion about this on Milsurps Knowledge Network.

I picked one up a few years back, from a CGNer. I was bit leery about it after getting it.

It had matching serial numbers stamped into everything, even the wood.

It turned out to be Norwegian. They have this thing about stamping matching numbers onto every conceivable part.

Same for the Norwegian 1911 clone I used to own.
