IPSC/IDPA Practice Nights

One thing to remember when it comes to Target Sports is that it is a retail operation and in that $20 which you pay to Target, the business supplies all the targets, props, etc. and the $20 is for guests, club members shoot N/C.

Grantmedic, thank you for the correction sorry for the wrong information on your shooting night.

so the guests are not only paying for there play time which they should be but they seem to be paying for the members too

20 is not much. Its 25 at the outdoor oshawa gun club as a guest. The 20 covers costs like the targets, sticks that end up getting shot, the heat that keeps you warm so you can shoot inside, electricity and the filters that provide cleaner air out on the range. And it also helps cover repairs to props some guests get a little 'physical' with.

Its not to much when you think of it.

Hey, don't take it the wrong way. Your club, your decision. It is GTA, so I guess people are used to paying more :(

Our club has to cover all the same costs, electricity, targets, supplies, patches, etc, and $5 per night seems to be adequate. Last time I was there I think there was over 20 people who showed up to shoot.

I suppose it makes sense to charge more for non-members, but our club uses $5 practice nights to lure new members to our club....seems to be working well.

Target sports practical pistol(ipsc) Tuesday league night, 60-100 rnds. 4-5 stages. $5.
For members of TSC who are BB qualifed. Membership has its privileges. You get what you pay for.

It is listed on IPSC Ontario forum in clubs section but I'll repeat here.
Burlington weekly IPSC match, every Tuesday, squads at 5pm, 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, 3 stages, $5 for nonmembers, $2 for members
Wentworth weekly IPSC match, every Thursday, starting at 6:30, last registration at 8pm, 4 stages, $5 for members and $2 for nonmembers.

Storm, I believe GTA folks came to you match mostly for classification stages... I know I did.

I suspect you have something a bit backwards there.

Nope..........maybe you did............but I still stand my my position and firm belief that they come to bask in my glory.

Correction - Target Sports every Wednesday @ 7pm. I run the IDPA for the club there. I suggest you take an nso course first and get your certificate for out of house shooters that want to join us. This will be strictly enforced. I need to see your NSO certificate and a gold card so I know everyone has had the same training across the board. Esp. if its your first time at our facility. Once in a while NSO classes run up at sharon Gun Club. Contact Dave Parkes for info on that he is the club contact there.

If you have any questions about idpa at Target email me at targetsportsidpa@gmail.com

Grant
