Short barrled shot guns.

i own a geha and with the lenght of the action there is no way you will be close to 26 inches with a 18 inch barrel. why are you cutting one down btw i just cant think of much use for a bolt action 2 1/2 inch (assuming there 12 gadge) shot gun with no choke. for the $100 you would sell it for you could pick up a single shot break action made for 2 3/4 shells trim that barrel down still have a stock and be quite a bit shorter (still over 26 in)

Hee ha for geha. The best there ever was.

Don't assume a judge will count the recoil pad as length either!

Why not? It's part of the overall length of a gun. Much like a shotgun magazine extension adds length to the overall length of the gun.

You lucky Devil. How could life be any better?

Yes, but it is removable. It could be argued it isn't a permanent addition.
If you are under OAL without it, you could be charged if it was found in that state.
YMMV

The stock isn't a permanent addition either, as the gun itself is the receiver only. The buttstock is removable just like the buttpad and the stock is considered as part of the overall length. In fact the buttpad is better secured to the stock with two screws than the buttstock with one.

Why is this thread in the "Hunting and Sporting Shotgun" section? It deserves to be in the section "below" this one. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34920
Because the poster is looking for legal/technical information and better informed posters are more frequently found here.

If he wants someone to say "AWESOME!!!" or "Me WANTS!!! in response to his latest "build" he'll go one floor below. ;)
