im looking for a decent 3-9x40 for my ought six. my budget is 300 before tax and shipping so what do you guys suggest? i was thinking a nikon or a bushnell elite or something but the burris fullfield e1 caught my eye.

I'd look at Redfield. A site sponsor has them for $215 I believe. Can use the change for rings and bases...they are good value for $$$. There is a Burris Fullfield sale that I spotted this evening - reg. $369 for $169 in camo. If you lean towards Burris, send a PM.

the burris scopes are excellent value for the money i use to be a devote bushnell guy but after waiting nearly 4 mts now for a scope that was sent in and they still havent even looked at it i would say stay clear of bushnell

I have two Bushnell 4200 2.5-10X40 and they are an excellent scope. I paid $500 each and they are good at that price. $300 is a steal. Also have a Burris Fullfield II but it's not in the same class optically and no rain guard which is really nice to have.

I have a few of the Burris Fullfield II scopes in 3-9x with the ballistic plex reticle. They're very good for the price. Make sure to look around. I bought mine at the $200 and $225 range.

95% light transmission. Nice and bright. No parallax adjustment though. The reticle I like. It's simple but does the job. Clicks are good, repeatability on mine have been good. Overall a good scope at a good price.

I would consider a 4200 Elite as well if you can find one for a good price. 95% light transmission as well, and they have good reviews. I personally don't like their reticle choices and the previous costs were too high but everything else looks good.

Burris FFII in 3-9x40 is tough to beat for the price. I've compared mine to my Zeiss Conquest, Vortex Viper, and Leup FX3 6x42 (all are 3-9x40 except the Leup). All set at 6x magnification. It is really tough to tell the difference, optically, even at dusk. You won't go wrong with a FFII or an Elite 4200.

Have 2 BS II's, very nice solid repeatable scope.

Get them on sale and that makes them an even better bang for buck.

Site sponsor Mystic Precision(Jerry) he can guide you through your needs and wants.

The 3-9 has nice eye relief and is easy to acquire targets with.

Has anyone used Sightron's HHR reticle? Anyone using Sightron for a hunting scope?
