it looks like i've got a small dent on my crown. approx 4 o'clock position. i know these are horrible pics, but is the best i could get. camera doesn't have macro.
anyway, what are your opinions on this?
i know the gun is quite dirty, havent cleaned in over 100 rounds.
not talking about the scratch at 7 o'clock, thats always been there., but wouldn't mind losing that too.
the gun is a savage 110, 270 win.
the gun shoots well enough, as in i can usually keep ten in 1.5 inches.
of course, i'm looking for everything i can get out of it.
gun is already bedded, but changing to a boyds thumbhole laminate tonight.
this "dent" has been there for a few years. seems like the gun likes lots of different bullets, weights and powder combos, but cant seem to get under that 1.5" group. could very well be me.
have tried re-bedding, different scopes, and many different loads.
is this all i can expect, or is there the posssibilty this dent is having an effect?
tried feeling it with a pick, but can't keel anything. i can definitly see it though.
what do you think?

any blimish in the crown can affect accuracy, as the crown is the very last part to touch the bullet, so if your shooting fore precission then yes a re-crown is a good idea, 10 inside of 1.5" for hunting is more then good
