Xcr-m - finally here!!!

Deckard the Brits have already come up with an aftermarket sollution to that. :D.

I actually hate it when a brand new firearm comes out and a number of people instantly want all kinds of calibers for it. There aren't enough of the original caliber for the market as is. Different calibers would be good later on but Id rather a company focussed on production for what is already in demand.

I'm patient. I'll be waiting until SS 20" or preferably 24" 1:11.25 twist match barrels come out for this rifle. I want to see how these rifles compare against my favourite but restricted AR10 and LMT rifles. The M has a lot going for it, especially it's non restricted status.

The British teach only right handed. If you're left handed you're taught and trained to shoot right side.

It was a bad joke :D

Ah yes. I shot a FAL in the old days left hand using my own technique. I wondered if a channel could be milled so that a second cocking handle could be inserted if needed. It's not too far fetched considering SCAR.

I agree......very good point. Longer barrels could prove to be the way to go considering the accuracy the M is showing. I not so patient though. I assume it would be a diffrent upper all together required for those longer barrels?

I'd rather have a bolt rifle for a 24" barrel.
The beauty of the 18-20" range on the xcr is that it's useable as a "carbine" style rifle, while still having good velocity, accuracy, and nonrestricted status.
Stainless match grade 18.6" I'd be all over though.

Do any of you new xcr-m owners have any updates regarding the reliability and accuracy of the platform. Some of you must have been out to shoot them by now.

Can someone clarify the magazine issue for me? Does the M version use AR10 mags? Which other mags work? Pmag?

Thanks

were your reloads crimped using something like lee factory crimp?

Maybe they just didnt build enough steady presure inside the case before the bullet leaves, or your reloads were below factory presure?

Hey, the reloads were definitely crimped. It was definitely the FL resizing die, as I have adjusted it down, and it has solved the problem (with feeding at least...)

As per the post above, I have had very satisfactory results with South African ammo. I am working on some reloads right now with 175 gr SMK's, which should hopefully work nicely.

Magazines are SR-25/DPMS pattern mags, and therefore, the rifle takes PMAGS. As a matter of fact, I think they are the cheapest mags there are right now for this calibre.

Feel free to let me know if there are any other questions!

Lefties can shoot the SA80 from the right side............for the first shot, all shots following the first one will be from the left side, as soon as the dental work is done. After handling an XCR-L recently, I'm guessing the XCR-M will be as close as most people can get to using a rifle with the handling characteristics of the FAL, the ergos are really close on these rifles.
