shotgun barrels

Hi just getting into the shooting sport and was wondering if there is actually left hand and right handed barrels for the 870. I see the 870 express combo but they dont offer left hand couldnt i just buy a left handed 870 and a 20 inch deer barrel and be good to go or is there such thing as a left hand barrel? any info would be a helpful thanks

The 870 left hand barrels only fit left hand receivers.

so you cant use a regular 870 barrel on a left hand version?

No.

There is an interaction between the barrel extension and the ejector. In addition, the barrel extension would block the ejection port.

You could find a Ithaca model 37 or a Savage Model 350 12ga Field/Security Combo. Comes with an 18.5" smooth bore barrel and a 28" vent rib barrel. Takes 2 3/4 and 3" shells. It loads from the bottom and ejects from the bottom, no need for left or right hand gun ...

I am left handed and I just purchased a mossberg 535 with two barrels. It has a tang safety and comes with two barrels for the same price as the 870. Cabelas has them for $350 plus shipping.

or get a mossberg 930. Alot better gun than the 535 or 870 and you get two barrels.
