donut flakes and hollow tubes aren't a new idea. The idea is this: as a regular flake burns, it gets smaller. As it gets smaller, the surface area i reduced, and the burn rate slows. Whereas a hollow flake, when it burns from the inside, the donut hole gets bigger as the outside diameter gets smaller, so that the surface area remains more constant throughout the burn, and ensures a more even burn rate.
Part of what makes Trail Boss so unique - arguably the main thing - is it's very low density. grain for grain, it takes up a lot more volume than other powders. What is the volume density like of this powder that you've found?
