the rifle just finished up on my bench and is getting ready to head to her home

It's a customers rifle and it came with that mount and stock.
As for the mount. I only put steel scope mounts on my personal rifles with the exception of the handguard types. I will not , as a riflesmith, install clients optics to aluminum mounts period, the one in the picture included.
