For hunting..

I'm looking for input regarding good quality leather rifle slings that are used to secure the rifle while shooting in various position rather than just hauling the rifle. I've read a bit about the Whelen-type hunting, Ching slings and basic 1" military slings. Anyone have recommendations? What do you prefer and why? Where can they be bought?

Thanks!

I like simple but practical in a rifle sling. The brand and model I used for years is no longer in business/available.

So off I went to Tandy leather supply and bought what I needed and made my own to exactly what I wanted. Leather working a sling is not rocket science if you are at all handy you can do it.

Andy Langois makes custom leather products that come highly recommended, and Brownells stocks his slings.

It's not mine. That pic (<http://1.bp.########.com/_G-EWSfJ1PwE/SYMwrX_qOmI/AAAAAAAAAxc/rY1oZ2FzXhA/s1600/cz223.jpg>) is posted in the Michael Bane blog article on Andy's slings.
