New to 22mag, got a marlin, have questions

This is my first mag 22. Bought a Marlin 982.
Is there any hints/tricks that will help me with this gun?
Any break in procedures that are different then a 22lr?
Also any worries I should look out for?

You can replace the trigger return spring with one from a papermate pen. It shaves several pounds off the trigger pull. Congrats on the new marlin, they are great little shooters.

I couldn't say no to the price. $90 bucks off. I know it won't out shoot my lr btvs but at half the cost, who cares.

I got the Marlin 982vs as my first 22mag too, never fired it yet. Can't pass up a good deal sometimes.

Marlins got micro-groove barrels; decisive accuracy when you find the right ammo, I think you'll be surprised what it can do at that price.

Both of my 22 magnums took a lot shooting to find the load they liked the best, my semi auto CZ like the Hornady 30gr vmax the best and my Rem. model 5 likes the 40gr Maxi Mag. FS
