:) :)
There's two! Lookin good "barrel pimp"! Lose the savage bolt knob and she's good to go! I will definitely set up a range report after she gets home. To answer any questions, she's a .308 win. Rock creek 22" fluted 5R rifled barrel with a 1 in 11.25" twist. Should be a winner!

I'm thinking about going with a snow camo pattern and theme with this baby when I get it back... Any thoughts or input guys? Maybe switch the stock out as well later on...

I just want it to be a bit different than my other traditional camo jobs... Some matte white/grey/ brown/ black stippling may look sweet. Its an M24 contour, unsure on measurements but will take a few when I get er back for you guys!

First Range Report!

Finally got my Savage .308 back from Sean today, needless to say I rushed down to get the parcel, got it home, ogled it for a few minutes then got right down to business as the sun was setting fast and I HAD to go try her out. Had a brand new Sightron SIII 6-24x50 LRMOA awaiting the rifle's arrival and a juicy new set of TPS alloy Xtra-low rings to top the Farrell 20min Rail. Leveled, tightened, now time to scoot to the range!!
Didn't have any rounds loaded up for load development on hand but figured I would just use some leftover rounds that my factory barrel loved as it is a pretty standard .308 recipe. Load was as follows:
168gr SMK
45gr Varget
Winchester Brass
CCI BR2 Primers

Had to run these through a full length die (minus the decapping pin) to have them chamber but that took all of 5 minutes... (I know, I know, not a lot of prep but a new gun woodie is a strong driving force at times).

I am going to fully disclose right now that I do NOT like this stock I am currently using (been spoiled by my McMillan A5) as it does not allow the proper usage of a rear bag or even a tactical sock

Despite the tupperware stock it was a rather rewarding yet quick range session if I do say so myself. A new Mcmillan A4 in the future and some proper load development I think this baby will be a winner.

Sorry In advance for the photos as my skills are limited and sporting a Blackberry, my equipment also leaves something to be desired. Anyhow here they are:

Here's the rifle from a few quick angles, I will take more closeups of the great workmanship Sean provides tomorrow hopefully.

I may not be the best shooter out there, but I am a firm believer that one can only improve given enough practice and a little constructive criticism. Patience and trigger time!
