Just wondering why the Ruger SR9 is so difficult to find in certain configurations. I am interested in the all black or OD colours but I can only seem to find them in stainless finish. Am I not looking in the right places?

Ruger can't make them fast enough, that's why. The black model sells in the US like ice cubes in H-E-double-hockey-sticks.

Unfortunately, the OD model has been discontinued (it was the one model that for some reason wasn't popular down south) and NO, mine is NOT for sale!!!:p

Awesome gun, great price equals hard to find. I have an OD one, it is on the never sell list. I've been offered $650 for it and turned it down (politely).

I had one they're alright, but if you're paying more than $500 for it, might as well get a gently used Glock gen4 or M&P. I like them better.

I've only ever used one... One from the first batches to hit canada. Many years ago, I felt that it was a very inferior pistol compared to my glock 17 and the glock shot circles around the sr9... What I really noticed was how crunchy the trigger felt. I was not impressed at all... By what I'm reading from your opinions make me think that I should give the sr9 another chance. Maybe they have improved.

Triggers are still gritty and heavy but they do improve I'm told after 300+ rounds. Just last weekend at Cabelas they had a few so not impossible to find :)
