For end tip pressure effect

After following a thread a while ago I applied something I've used on walnut stocks to a synthetic stock, the results as you can see were dramatic. Thanks to H4831 for reminding me of something I used to do that worked.

Some want that bit of "up" pressure on the barrel.
Some work best without it.
Only by trying it can you find out, as you did.
I have a policy. If it has pressure and shoots well, I leave well enough alone
If it doesn't have pressure, and shoots well...ditto.
However, if it tosses shots around, I will apply or remove pressure on the forend.

I agree Eagleye, if it ain't broke don't fix it but his one was giving me fits.It's a wildcat stock I fitted to my wife's 7-08, it has a whippy light barrel that I free floated first. My 280 in an HS stock and a heavier profile barrel shoots its best free floated past the barrel shank

This concurrs with what I've found over the years on many, many rifles. Float 'em if they don't like that up pressure usually works.
