I am looking for a HD and mostly fun shotgun. I was originally going to get a cheap 12.5 MAG grizzly. A range nearby said they may be looking into starting a 3 gun competition so now I want a gun that can do all 3 for reasonable price. Iwant a pistol grip style and a couple of shotguns that caught my eye are mossberg 590 or (500) special purpose pump with 8 round capacity. The other is a mossberg semi auto 930 special purpose with 5 rounds since its semi. What would you choose ? Tbh don't care about hd reliability to much lol.

get a mossberg 500 or 870 basic and you can add all the parts you want later. i wouldent go less then 18" barrel tho. the more shots you have the better.

I would find an old 870 Wingmaster and modify it to meet your preferences/requirements. They are inexpensive, plentiful, and of good quality.

As someone else suggested, get a Wingmaster and modify it to your liking. That's what I did and dm very happy with how it turned out.

590A1 - consistently reliable, never jams.

Indeed

Just don't buy a 590 and put a pistol grip on it. Makes useing the safety hard

Never had a problem with it. It's just a different procedure.

We've sold quote a few stock adapters for to some Southern US Police departments for their 500's and 590's that seem to be ok with it.

All 4 of my Mossbergs have Grips on them.. I'll take a Mossberg over a Remington any day.
