Shorten PAL Approval Times

Curious, when you folks have been called by the fine people in Marimichi, did anyone notice the number they were calling from?

I have a serious telemarketer problem here and would hate to miss them thinking they were hawking me some garbage.

Was it 506 or 1-800, etc?

Anyone got an answer to this - I know I can call them but still curious :)

So I called the CFC and asked if they could check over if there is any missing information. She asked a few questions (name, birthday, address) and said that all they are waiting on is the safety results. I asked if then I would be on the next step and she said yes. I worded it improperly and should have asked if I can do the interview.

Can you do the interview step without safety results, or must all the info be handed in first?

January 19: Passed CFSC Exam
January 19: Mailed application for PAL to CFC
January 27: Application received in New Brunswick
February 29: Received stamped test results in mail from CFO at lunch time
February 29: Faxed results to CFC, went back to work
Februrary 29: Get home from work, check application status and... Licence issued.

I am not sure how that happened, but whatever. I was told by someone in New Brunswick that my application would sit in the queue until they got my test results, but obviously this is not the case at all. Anyway, that is kind of cool. I was pretty upset about the time it took to get something back from the CFO, but I am happy with the people in New Brunswick now. I still wish something could be done about the extra step in Ontario with the test results. Why didn't they go after the folks who were "cheating" rather than adding more work to an already overworked staff? It is not just those who are applying for a PAL who suffer, but also the ones looking for ATTs and transfers.

My status was updated on Monday to "licence issued" I called today to see if I could get my number so I can get my club applications in the mail. The lady in the Alberta CFO was very nice, she asked why I wanted it and then gave it to me.:dancingbanana:

I am off on vacation in 2 weeks and hopefully when i get back the registry will be no more and my club memberships will be through so the buying can commence:D

Did you have your interviews before the safety results came in?

I asked to have my interview before sending in my staped test results, but they said they needed the results in order to forward it to the department who makes the interviews so NO luck there ! No way to accellerate the process at all ! :(

I hate to say this, but the act of making everyone suffer for one persons trangressions is "liberal bull####". I may be wrong here, but that's the way I read it. As you said, they could go after the cheaters and not make everyone else pay.

Only complete applications get processed.

Guess I will have to wait for those results. Should arrive next week if the common trend of 4 weeks applies.

No you can not do the interview without the stamped test results - your application is incomplete.

However you can fax (1-800-411-0622) in your stamped test results to speed up the process.

Uberkermit.... What time did you fax in your results and to what number???

I sent the fax in at noon. The number was 1-800-411-0622 (as 2Bad4u also wrote). I ended up sending the results and the letter they had sent me that stated they needed the results. That way they have a file number so they know which file to associate the results with.

so what happens to my application after the interviews are all done? Today marks day 28 for me and it isn't approved yet. I'm fine with waiting, just wondering how long it usually takes to go from "in progress" to "license issued" after the interviews are completed.

Thanks.
