Not overly impressed with my "new" 858's magazines. Two of the mags aren't too bad with only minor paint loss, scratches, and dings. These two are both cracked and have bent floor plates, not impressed.

The floor plates are just cosmetic. Take them off and re-shape them with pliers if you want to. The cracked feed lips would probably be a problem if our glorious overlords didn't limit us to 5 rounds. Try them out and see.

A lot of the parts on your "new" rifle aren't new either. I've received like new, very good, and beat to #### mags with rifles. Also some beat to #### that had been repainted to look new.

The non-restricted cz 858, that has been made available to us in Canada, is made from refurbished parts, with the exception of the barrel. That includes the mags, I've never seen any claimed to be new production. I purchased all of my 858 gear from Wolverine, this was explained to me and none of the mags appeared new, but I was very happy with the $20/piece price tag.

um...did you buy those new or off the EE? I dont have a 858 but plan to soon. I would send those back.

Purchased a "new" CZ 858 from a well know site sponsor with a good reputation. These are the mags that came with it.

Try them out and see. They probably function, but for how long? If the lips weren't cracked I would have been fine with some paint chips and dents as long as they don't affect funtion or shorten the lifespan of the mags

A lot of the parts on your "new" rifle aren't new either. I've received like new, very good, and beat to s**t mags with rifles. Also some beat to s**t that had been repainted to look new. I was aware that these rifles have some surplus/arsenal/used parts in them (incl mags). Im not overly concerned as there aren't any visibly worn/damaged/out of spec parts. If it came with a gas piston that was deeply pitted and rusty I'd be ticked off

I should note that I've only e-mailed the dealer so far. If I don't get a response by tomorrow afternoon I'm going to call them. I'm not going to call them out on a public forum, especially not before giving them a chance to make things right. I'm mostly venting, also curious about the condition of other peoples magazines (My other 858 had brand new looking mags). I had some other problems with the order that I'm not going to make public.

Got some absolutely brand new mags from GP Tactical. You can tell as they are perfect, springs are tight, can't mistake brand new. I would be sending that ^"junk" back.

None of the CZ 858's are new. If that's what you were told, you were misinformed.

The cz 858's usually come to the retailer, packaged with two new looking mags and two not-so-new looking mags. Just luck of the draw and no fault of the retailer, most never inspect or open the box.

New Old Stock/Surplus, there have been NO NEW Vz58s produced since the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, this includes the magazines.

CZ made 858 rifles are remanufactured/NOS rifles which are in semi auto only (blanked away original arsenal markings also), our beloved non restricted model sports newly manufactured barrels where they swap out the durable military chromelined 15.5' barrel.

Some vendors like CSA have made new semi auto only recievers or with new 5.56mm barrels, but their rifles are all still assembled from parts made during the cold war era.

The magazines I have received "new" are in various states, some show some wear, some are refurbrished with new coats of paint, some are near new, but none of them are 2012 NEW.

So in essence, the CZ858, CSA and FSN VZ58's are constructed out of parts from the recycle bin? The "new" mags are just refurbished?

this is the first time im hearing the cz858 being of used and refurbished parts, is this true?.
not that im complaining. i love my cz 858's, and they seem to be of great working order. just alittle concerning they might be of used parts.
