Once again the BCRA will be holding our annual service condition Championship shoot the first weekend of June this will be the 87th year for rifle and 37th year for pistol.

Pistol will be on June 1st range briefing at 0745 at 100M mound

Rifle will be on June 2nd and 3rd
Walkbacks June 1st at 1400 to 1630

Briefing at 0745 on 2nd at 100M mound.

Some of the timings may change stay tuned.

There is only 47 spots for pistol and 96 rifles spots. Last year we had around 65 pistol shooter and 90 rifle shooters. Entry and membership forms are available at bcrifle.org the course of fire will be out by the 15 mar 2012

SERVICE RIFLE – INDIVIDUAL MATCHES

NOTE: All Rifle Types Will Shoot the Same Course of Fire and Timings:

Match #1 Seaforth Highlanders Match - 200 Metre Deliberate (Point Target Engagement)

Match #2 Zwolak Match – 200 Metre Snap (Defensive Fire)

Procedure:
1. Relay will adopt the prone “Prepare to Move Position” at 200 metre mound. Actions forward, no round in the chamber. The appearance of the target for one second is the signal to advance to the 100 metre firing point.
2. Upon arrival at 100 metre firing point, firers will adopt the standing alert position and make READY. They will engage the targets upon the appearance of the targets, 35 seconds (metre range) 30 seconds (yard range) after initial exposure.
One or more shots per exposure. Firers must remain in the standing position throughout the match and adopt the standing alert position between exposures.
Targets will appear randomly in either the left, centre, or right within the shooter’ lane.
Upon completion of match, shot indicators are put in each shot hole and are shown to the firers for 30 seconds to show their group.

Procedure:
1. Competitors will be ordered to adopt the standing alert position, LOAD and make READY at 500 metres.
2. The appearance of the 4-foot target for 15 seconds is the signal to adopt the prone position and fire two shots.
3. Following this, firers will place the selector lever on safe and await the next appearance of the 4 foot target.
4. The next appearance of the 4-foot target is the signal to move to the 400 metre firing point to adopt the sitting, kneeling or squatting position and fire two shots in 50 seconds. Following this, firers will place the change lever to safe and wait the next target.
5. The appearance of the Fig. 12/59 target is the signal to move to the 300 metre firing point, adopt the prone position and fire two shots in 50 seconds. Following this, the firers will place the change lever to safe and await the next target.
6. The next appearance of the Fig. 12/59 target is the signal to move to the 200 metre firing point, adopt the sitting, kneeling or squatting position and to fire two shots in 50 seconds. Following this, firers will place the change lever to safe and await the next target.
7. The last appearance of the Fig. 12/59 target is the signal to move to the 100 metre firing point, adopt the standing position and fire two shots in 50 seconds.
8. Only 2 shots may be fired at each exposure.

Stage 2 Qualifier

Open to the highest 30% competitors, up to a maximum of 24 shooters. If a qualified competitor declines his position, the next place competitor will qualify.

Each shooter will shoot mach 12, 8 and 4

Winner of Stage two will receive the Solders cup.

Match # 17 – FIBUA

Distance 100 to 25 metres:

1. Competitors will form up prone at the 100 metre firing point with 4 x 5 round magazines plus 20 rounds on their person.
2. Shooters start in the standing alert with rifles loaded and ready.
3. Match starts when first target appears.

Exposure time 3 seconds x 10 exposures with a 2 second target down time with one shot per exposure.
Initial exposure is fired from the standing position, followed by the second exposure being shot from the kneeling position and then returning to the standing position. This pattern repeats for the next five exposures alternating between the standing and kneeling shooting positions for a total of 5 standing exposures and 5 kneeling exposures.
Once 10 exposures are complete a 1 second exposure of a Fig 12c/59 will signal the shooters they have 8 seconds to move to the 75m firing point for the next stage.

Exposure time 2 minutes for 10 rounds with reload.
Once at 75m, the shooter will load his rifle and fire 10 shots from the kneeling position into a Fig 12c/59 target. He will then reload 5 rounds each into of his 4 magazines from loose ammo contained somewhere on his person. No mag chargers may be used. Firing and charging mags must be finished in the 2 minute time limit.
Once the 2 minute exposure is complete, a 1 second exposure of a Figure 11/59 will signal the shooters they have 8 seconds to move to the 50m firing point for the next stage.

Upon arrival at 50m firing point shooter will have 10 x 5 second exposures of a walking man alternating direction starting from the centre of their bay to the centre of the next bay with 5 exposures in each direction with one shot per exposure from the standing position

ii. On a one second flash of the target, the competitors will have 10 seconds to move to the 200m firing line, adopt the kneeling position and prepare for 5 X 5 second exposures.
iii. The walking man target will appear at the centre of the competitor’s lane number and move either left or right to the centre of the adjacent bay in a 5 second exposure. The direction of the target movement will be chosen at random by the BO; and

Stage 2 – 200 to 100 meters

a.
i. Distance: 100 meters;
ii. Position: From kneeling ready to move at 200m to standing at 100m;
iii. Number of Shots: 10 (no more than 5 rds per mag);
iv. Target: Figure 12/59;
v. Scoring: V, 5 and 4;
vi. Type of Fire: snap at moving targets;
vii. Rate of Fire: Any number of rounds may be fired at each exposure up to a maximum of 10 for the stage; and
viii. Timing: 1 second flash, delay of 35 seconds followed by 5 x 5 second exposures.

SERVICE RIFLE TEAM MATCHES

SR Team Match #1: BC Electric

Open to teams of 4 members:
1. General Specification:

a. Distance: 400, 300, 200, 100 meters;
b. Position: As specified for each stage;
c. Number of Shots: 40 (from 5-round magazines - minimum of 4 magazines required);
d. Target: Total of 2 x figure 11/59 and 1 x figure 12/59 per lane. Used as specified for each stage;
e. Scoring: All targets score V, 5 and 4;
f. Type of Fire: Snap at moving targets;
g. Rate of Fire: As required for each stage;
h. Timing: As specified for each stage and under the control of the RO; and
i. HPS: 250.50V.

2. Procedure:
The competition is fired individually as in Service Rifle with a team of four aggregate totalled from the individual scores;
Dress and equipment will be as per Service Rifle rules;
Competitors will be squadded as per Service Rifle on the 400 meter firing point as directed by range staff;
Each competitor will be assigned one firing lane and will fire on his own targets. Each target will be marked with a number to identify in which stage it was used;
The match is comprised of four stages;
Each stage will require a “run up” to adopt the specified position and then 5 X 5 second moving target exposures;
Rifles will be unloaded after each stage and before moving forward to the next stage. Competitor will move forward under control of the RO;
Competitors will be given a “load and ready” for each stage;
A clean target will be used for each competitor at each stage with scoring taking place in the butts at the end of the match.

3. Stage 1 – 400 to 300 meters

a.
i. Distance: 400 to 300 meters;
ii. Position: From prone ready to move at 400m run to prone at 300m;
iii. Number of Shots: 10 (no more than 2x5 rds/mag);
iv. Target: Figure 11/59;
v. Scoring: V, 5, 4;
vi. Type of Fire: Snap moving target;
vii. Rate of Fire: Any number of rounds may be fired at each exposure up to a maximum of 10 for the stage; and
viii. Timing: 1 second flash, delay of 35 seconds followed by 5 x 5 second exposures.
b. Procedure:
i. All firers will form up at the 400 meter firing line. They will then be given the “load and ready… watch and run”;
ii. On a one second flash of the target, the competitors will have 35 seconds to move to the 300m firing line, adopt the prone position and prepare for 5 X 5 second exposures;
iii. The target will appear at the centre of the competitor’s lane number and move either left or right to the centre of the adjacent bay in a 5 second exposure. The direction of the target movement will be chosen at random by the BO; and
At the end of this stage, competitors will be given a “weapons on safe watch and run” and will move forward to the next distance on the flash of the targets.

4. Stage 2 – 300 to 200 meters

a.
i. Distance: 300 to 200 meters;
ii. Position: From prone ready to move to kneeling;
iii. Number of Shots: 10 (no more than 2x5 rds/mag);
iv. Target: Figure 11/59;
v. Scoring: V, 5 and 4;
vi. Type of Fire: snap at moving targets;
vii. Rate of Fire: Any number of rounds may be fired at each exposure up to a maximum of 10 for the stage; and
viii. Timing: 1 second flash, delay of 35 seconds followed by 5 x 5 second exposures.

b. Procedure:
i. All firers will form up 10 meters behind the 200 meter firing line. They will then be given the “load and ready… watch and run”;
ii. On a one second flash of the target, the competitors will have 10 seconds to move to the 200m firing line, adopt the kneeling position and prepare for 5 X 5 second exposures;
iii. The target will appear at the centre of the competitor’s lane number and move either left or right to the centre of the adjacent bay in a 5 second exposure. The direction of the target movement will be chosen at random by the BO; and
iv. At the end of this stage, competitors will be given a 90 sec to reload and then “weapons on safe watch and run” and will move forward to the next distance on the flash of the targets

5. Stage 3 – 200 to 100 meters

a.
i. Distance: 100 meters;
ii. Position: From kneeling ready to move from 200m to standing at 100m;
iii. Number of Shots: 10 (no more than 2x5 rds/mag);
iv. Target: Figure 12/59;
v. Scoring: V, 5 and 4;
vi. Type of Fire: snap at moving targets;
vii. Rate of Fire: Any number of rounds may be fired at each exposure up to a maximum of 10 for the stage; and
viii. Timing: 1 second flash, delay of 35 seconds followed by 5 x 5 second exposures.

b. Procedure:

ii. On a one second flash of the target, the competitors will have 35 seconds to move to the 100m firing line, adopt the standing position and prepare for 5 X 5 second exposures;
The target will appear at the centre of the competitor’s lane number and move either left or right to the centre of the adjacent bay in a 5 second exposure. The direction of the target movement will be chosen at random by the BO; and
No more than 15 rds per target will count for score.


SR Team Match #2 - Falling Plates

Open to teams of 4 members.

Procedure:
Teams will form up prone at the 300 metre firing point with two x 5 round magazines.
The action of the rifle is in the "forward" position and no rounds in the chamber. No magazine is in the rifle.
The range officer will blow a whistle to commence the match. Teams will then advance to 200 metre firing point. The rifle must not be loaded and made READY until the competitor adopts his firing position on the 200 metre firing point.
The winning team is that which:
Knocks down all its targets in the fastest time; or,
Knocks down all the greater number of targets, or
In the even that each team knocks down the same number of targets in the same time, the team that has expended less ammunition.
Unfired ammunition will be collected and counted by the RO’s immediately upon cessation of firing.

SR Team Match # 4 Infantry Association Team Match

Open to teams of 4 members: This match is fired concurrently with the HMCS Discover Match and Match 16. Teams must be entered before the HMCS Discovery Match begins.
