Don't buy from amazon.com! Even though it is listed for $51.99 on Amazon, you still have to pay $10 import fees on top of the shipping.
Buy from Brownells. It's $59.99 and the shipping is about $5. I just ordered one today.

I was looking at Cabela's, it details all taxes and fees before you check out.
No you don't! Just the shipping fee. The other thing is you can't place an order totalling $100 or more because you are going to need special paper work so you'll have to break it down to seperate orders. Nonetheles, it is still cheaper to get it from Brownells compare to other websites.

Muffs
Pro Ears Gold after a false start with cheaper Peltors. These are big for a reason but comfortable. Electronics are good too. My Peltors crackle and go through batteries like mad. Pro Ears are expensive but so are hearing aids.

I think the reason for the lower db rating on the electronic muffs is that the electronics take up some space that the foam usually fills, so there is less foam to reduce the noise. I use a pair of molded plugs with a pair of electronic muffs and it works well. I don't think any muff out there will allow you to hear all conversations when there is a lot of shooting going on.

You are right! Before It was more than Brownells after shiping and duty. Now it is less than Brownells. Darn it! I ordered mine from Brownells already.
Why none of the CGN sponsors and Canadian retailers don't carry this stuff?

Another thing that I think is important when looking at the the advertised sound attenuation levels on muffs is that they're measured in decibels (dB). This form of measurement is often confusing to people as it is a logarithmic scale (and that's the easiest part to understand). In addition, is it is often unclear as to how this number works in practicality.
In a very small nut shell, these numbers will give you some point of reference (but probably cause more questions...):
Double the LOUDNESS - +10 dB (approximately)
-Loudness is the perceived "volume" of a sound by your ear. It is a purely subjective level that is dependant on the listener and cannot be actually measured like SPL.
Double the SOUND PRESSURE - +6 dB
-dB(SPL) is a measurement of the pressure of a sound relative to some reference value. It can also be referred to as a sound's intensity. If a sound source is moved away, the SPL will decrease.
Double the POWER - +3dB
-Acoustic power level. Basically a measurement of the voltage of a sound. If the distance to a sound increases, the acoustic power level does not decrease.
It's all quite confusing, but the bottom line is this: the difference between a -26dB set of muffs and a -32 dB may not sound like much, but that 32 dB set likely reduces the sound pressure by a factor of two. That's TWICE as much!

Just picked up a set of Howard Leight impact sports for $64.99 shipped. And a set of Surefire EP3's for $17.50 shipped. Took about an hour of searching the web for the best deal and that's the best I could find. I'll let you guys know how I like them.
