Hello,

I am looking for suggestions here. I have an SKS with an Interfuze stock on it and can't stand the scope/mount that came with it (the cheap screw-in type).

I am looking for those who have an SKS/interfuze setup that have...

1. the type of mount that screws (i think) into the side of the stock and wraps up/over the dust cover and has a pic rail on it as well (i want to put the original dust cover back on and be able to remove it without losing zero which i cannot do right now) allowing cleaning without having to re-zero

2. suggestions as to what type of scope to use (i will only be using it as a range toy so no more than 200 yards) red dot, traditional crosshair reticle etc etc?

3. I would also appreciate specific model #'s or names of the scopes where possible.

Thanks for all those who reply,

Coach

p.s. I did have a look through the stickys but there are a ton and I didn't come across what I was looking for yet so am hoping to save a bit of time this way

If you want a red dot (1x) scope mounted and don't want too much hassle you should check out the scout mount at Wolverine. Mine was easy to install, holds zero well, doesn't interfere with ejection and meets my 0-150ish needs (probably gun limited). I threw a Vortex SPARC on mine (cost more than the gun), and the combo works well. You may want a cheek riser though, depending on how you index. Good luck.

OK,, I’ve wasted a couple of hundred bucks so you don’t have to. None,, repeat none of the rear cover mounts will hold a zero. None repeat none of the handrail mounts will hold a zero. Your real choices are the Choate or the Scout mounts. I’m running with a Scout simply because I didn’t want to be drilling and cutting into the receiver or stock. Choates will be a bit more work but probably give you more of a choice in optics, if your ok with a small red dot then the Scout will work, and both will meet your requirements.

Billy,

I will no longer be using the dust cover for anything other than a dust cover...putting the original back on, hence my original email.

Thank you very much for your input/feedback. I'm not worried about drilling etc. since whatever I do I'll be taking it to a smith to do it up properly as I am still relatively new to the hobby.

Have a great day!

Coach
