Walther PPQ

I talked to a distributor in Ontario a few weeks ago, he said he had some. Yay. Not for civilians. Booo.
I hope to eventually hear back from him about the availability of the .40s&w(106mm barrel).
Not totally counting on hearing from him, they are a military/police distributor. I'm not a customer.

Glock is 100% preloaded striker fired. The difference is??? Yes, the PPQ has a more refined trigger and differs in the design compared to the Glock, but the Glock and PPQ are more similar then different.

I really really want this pistol. We should be seeing these within a few months now hey?
I'm sure there will be a run on them though. I was asking about the ppq before the store here even heard of them.

The glock trigger is in a half #### position. When you pull the trigger you are cocking the striker the rest of the way before it releases. The striker is fully cocked by the movement and the slide. The PPQ is fully cocked and when you pull the trigger you only release the sear, it doesn't #### the striker and then release. Similar to an XD, but probably different internals.

Personally I think the definitions should be:
SA - rack the slide, pull the trigger once drops the hammer/striker, then pulling the trigger does nothing until you rack the slide again.
DA - rack the slide, pull the trigger once drops the hammer/striker, then pulling the trigger again also drops the hammer/striker.

Ultimately it shouldn't matter to these definitions what happens with trigger parts when you pull the trigger, just whether you can wholly actuate the trigger process just by pulling the trigger.

Yes, the glock is know as the "safe action" pistol. Sort of like a half-#### single action.

The definition doesn't matter, but the feel of the trigger does. Single actions are usually crisper.

I had a fondle at a gun store here in Oz yesterday (we get the threaded barrel to make minimum 120mm length) and have to say the trigger is very good straight out of the box. Nice ergonomic grip and it points well.

Girl in the shop knew nothing about pistols though and I let her struggle to find the mag release for a while just to amuse myself :D

Retail down here is $A1000 with two mags which is around $CA1050. Prices here have to include tax by law so none of this plus tax stuff.

For comparison the same dealer lists Gen 4 Glock 17A for $820 with two mags.

Sofar it sounds like the cats a$$ of pistols :D
