858 fail

ive said it before and ill say it again ..............ive tried several types of ammo
good stuff cheap stuff old stuff and new stuff, before cleanings and after cleanings.....

Its the chambers not the ammo.

This has been confirmed by a gunsmith after head spacing was checked with gauges and ok'd according to another post

however i will post pics in the am of the internals for your request .....best of luck!

Its the chambers not the ammo.

Meaning what EXACTLY? The chambers need to be cleaned out regularly? Chamber too tight in manufacture? Headspace, well you said yours was ok so it won't be that...

About 9 months ago we saw the same thing happen, we were shooting Shane's SKS, and the guy next to us offered to let us try his VZ-58 (dunno exact model), and Shane's ammo did exactly the same thing: got stuck in the chamber, ripped the rim right off, pushed the primer a bit. We had no idea, assumed it was more likely the surplus ammo being slightly incompatible with the VZ.

Step one - Buy Scotch
Step two - Bring Scotch over
Step three - We Remove Casing
Step four - We remove scotch
.. we need to try something new though.

How about a Thorogood?

One scotch
One Bourbon
One Beer...

With the song playing in the background...drinking must be synchronized to the song!!!

Just use the cleaning rod it came with and a ball peen hammer and gently but forcefully remove stuck shell. Happened to me 4-5x and this is my method and worked every time. Now I keep a sawed off hammer in my range bag just in case it happens again.

my.02.

GENTLEMEN;
The problem is headspacing, obviously the incorrect wedge was used during assembly....

Insert correct wedge, voila....

I could only read through half of this thread!

Im a little sad now, but still excited for my arma-coated cz.

I was expecting it to be a reliable plinker capable of "better than sks" accuracy.

reliability is most key for me, if this happens my first shoot i wont be a happy camper, on the plus side, because of this thread, im not gonna forget to clean my 858!!! :HR:

try having have someone who doesnt swing like a girl drive the casing out

Won't feel like a girl when I swing at you LOL ;) Dinner is on you next time.

I still have to get the casing out.

Jump up and down on one foot, spin counter clockwise 10 times, yell spit and see if that works. If this is done at night, bark at the moon while doing.

I had a an ar180b that had a shell stuck in it. I put the upper in the freezer and the casing came out easily afterwards. I think that only worked because brass expands and contracts more than steel. In this case it's steel on steel. If you have a deep freeze it couldn't hurt anymore than jamming objects down the barrel.
