Guys does the heavier stainlessor tungsten guide rod really make a difference .I was thinking about buying one for my G22.

Other than its easier to change springs it doesn't make a difference with factory power loads. I have one and I never use it.

In my experience, the tungsten guide rod did help with taming the recoil on my G17. I guess when all is said and done it's a case of 'YMMV'.

Man, search DPM Systems. They have what you are looking for and yes, they make a difference. I have them in two different guns.

Have shot with and without back to back and there was a difference to me.
Easier to level the pistol consistently with the added weight in the front.

My favorite drop in mod......period.

You will have to lock tite the screw and check it every few thousand, or it will eventually spill it's guts.
Have JB welded mine. When a replacement is needed I buy another entire unit and JB weld that one.

Still worth every penny. Will always have one.

To the OP, understand that if you plan on competing with your G22, changing the guide rod to non-factory configuration will affect which Division you can shoot in....

In my experience, the tungsten guide rod did help with taming the recoil on my G17.

It made a quite noticeable difference in my G17L also.

Note that the Tungsten one is twice as heavy as a stainless steel one.
