So I disassembled my new Shorty today.

The trigger guard needed a lot of strength to pull up and out in order to remove the trigger group.

Now that I am assembling it again, the trigger guard needs a lot of pressure to come back down (more than I was comfortable with at first until I read into it a little bit), however, now when it is down and secured the trigger guard looks like this:

If you look closely the tip of the trigger guard doesn't slide into the little groove behind the trigger group, which is where it was when I took the rifle out of the box.

Is this normal or did I assemble it wrong?

If you have to put the small part of the combo tool in the hole or a screwdriver and pry the trigger guard back a bit while pushing down. The combo tool will make it easier to unlatch the guard as well if its really stiff.

So I ran into another problem with the trigger group that I need help with. I was working the safety back and forth to loosen it up a little with the trigger group out. When I wanted to insert it back into the rest of the rifle it wouldn't fit. So what happened was that at some point while working the safety continuously the little screw above (grey in colour in the picture at the top) the round hole, is out a little bit.

How do I fix that and does anyone have an idea how that may have happened?

Not a screw,,,just a pin so line up the holes and push it back in.

Thanks. Ended up taking most of the trigger group apart. Reinserting the pin was a real PITA as it would never line up right. Ended up figuring out it needed a lot of compressed PLUS a little pull upwards for it to slide in nicely.

Those will be some sore fingers later on from all that squeezing.
