Does anyone have any experience with the bushnell elite 6500 2.5-16x42 riflescope with the DOA reticle? I recently purchased a browning brl 7mm rem mag and I am looking for a scope for it. I like the range of magnification because I will be using this gun in the bush and on the open prairiesin Saskatchewan. Also wondering about how accurate the ranges are on the DOA reticle? Or just get a fine multi-x reticle. Any help greatly appreciated. thanks

Bushnell Is Good

Perhaps this is a little off topic. But I have a Bushnell 6500 2.5-16 Tactical. I found that it was defective and I sent it back.

It took around 4 months, but I got a brand new scope back. The replacement scope has side parallax adjustment, which I do not think was on the one I originally bought.

I was very happy with Bushnell, and thought I should pass the information along to those who appreciate fair treatment.

I use one on my 300 Weatherby and and the reticle seemed to work quite well for my 180 at 3215 fps. the 500 yard reticle was bang on at 530 and the 600 was good for 620. A couple of things I dont like: the reticle dots are moa, so the 500 yard dot covers 5 inches, which is way too much! Aim small, miss small. Secondly, the reticle is way too busy for me. I grew up with a duplex, and i think I will die using a duplex.

I made a mistake and shot my gun a lot out of a lead sled and the scope innards piled up (it worked good for about 250 rounds until i started using the lead sled). If you are interested in one of these scopes, send me a pm. Bushnell replaced it and i have a brand new one in the box. Like Alfreds, I was very satisfied with bushnells response.

How many rds do you figure you fired out of leadsled before it ruined your scope?
Are you sure its the LS's fault?
I have 6500 atop my 300RUM and shoot it in my sled a lot and haven't had any problems(yet anyways)
I fire all my rifles w/ scopes out of it from time to time, all without a single problem.

I love mine, I also shoot it on a 300 ultra mag. No problems at all! The is a awesome scope, that has great value for te buck!
You won't be disapointed.

About 100 in the lead sled and it wouldnt hold zero any more. Not saying it was definitive that the lead sled caused it to pile up, just sayin its too cooincidental. This is the 3rd one that i have personally seen stop working after being in a lead sled, all 6500's. I hope you continue to have good luck with the lead sled. I sold mine and bought a good set of bags to shoot off of. Works for me better than the lead sled ever did.
