I am tired of the runaround. What is the law for status indians hunting in ontario? Do they require a license? Do they have to hunt in season?

Sometimes when BBQ'ing with other members

Lmao strangeday do you stay awake at night trying to figure out how to stir s**t on cgn:stirthepot2:

We banter about stiring the pot, many people have been lured by an afternoon of our collaborations. On this issue i have 3 different answers from 3 different groups. I am looking for clarity

Page 14 of the Ontario Hunting Regulations:
"To hunt in Ontario, most Ontario residents need a hunting
version Outdoors Card and all applicable licence tags and
licences. There are two exceptions to this.
...
The second exception is members of Aboriginal communities
with Aboriginal or treaty hunting rights in Ontario. These
hunters are not required to be in possession of an Outdoors
Card provided they are hunting for food, social or ceremonial
purposes within their traditional or treaty area or they are visiting the traditional area of another First Nation and have received proper written permission to hunt from that
First Nation.
All other Ontario residents, including Aboriginal persons, either hunting outside of areas where they have Aboriginal or treaty hunting rights OR hunting in areas for which they have not received proper written permission to hunt, must have a hunting version Ontario Outdoors Card and all applicable licences."

Since they claim a pretty big chunk of Ont, it must be pretty much a free reine for Algonquins :stirthepot2:;)

And as an investigator you learn sometimes that the answer is in plain sight. So im asking. We have had several discussions over the quoted section above. For instance my res is in Quebec, but can i hunt on crown land in Ontario anytime? What about private property? I got two different answers from two different conservation officers and a third one from MNR phone call. We can't make heads or tails and wanted some input from someone who may have already tackled the issue

Removed because you shouldn't waste your time reading my post -- skip to #10 and read the links provided by blargon.
