I like my mod4 charging handle. The latch is easy to grab. I definitely recommend one.

PRI with Combat Latch. Better all around. IMO. The Gunfighter is a cheaper, quality alternative but doesn't really do anything for the rearward escaping gases.

Which is only a significant problem if you're using a suppressor. Google 'silicon charging handle mod' if its that big of a problem with your current gear.
Nor was it designed to. It was designed to eliminate the stress placed on the roll pin. There is nothing cheap about the quality. You will/can experience extended tac latches snapping the roll pin, the latch will come off right in your hand, you can still use the rifle but the latch may bop you in the face a few times.
They are both two good designs with completely different uses.
Out of the two I'd say that you'd receive a higher level of reliability with the Gunfighter, something you can't say for the Gasbuster. Now a lot of people have been running extended tac latches for years and may never have a problem but we have a fairly high failure rate in the military with our latch because it's extremely long and that extra leverage is very hard on roll pins.
The BCM website has a fairly good explanation of why they designed the latch the way they did.
Now if you combined the two designs you'd have the best of both worlds.

Agreed on the roll pin issue. I have had many cocking handles break like this. I fully understand that. I didn't mean to say that it was cheap in anyway other than monetary value. It is a quality piece that I use on a regular basis. Given the choice, I would prefer the PRI with the combat latch, if for nothing else, that it's bigger and more comfortable with out gloves. I've had the BCM pinch me a few times.

Another idea is simply eliminate that silly roll pin all together and try the ACLM cocking handle. It's also lefty friendly.

Even with shipping it's less than half of what some Canadian dealers want for them. Sadly, this is one case where I saw reason not to support a Canadian business...

A nice charge handle except for the fact it is still a low(er) profile and difficult to grasp with gloves or under stress.

I really dig the BCM mod4 medium latches. I have it on most of my ARs.

Yes you can order directly from Brownells, as long as you keep your order under $100US worth of gun parts and none of the parts are major components. If you are unsure, make a list of part numbers from the website and call in to see if they are able to ship to Canada.
Items that are ITAR controlled will not ship.
Items manufactured by a company that is not registered as an exporter will not ship.
Go to the EE of Black Rifles parts and see if there is one. Or contact Questar and see when their next shipment is.
