I'm thinking about rechambering my Remy XR-100 from 204 to 6mm br or 6.5x47 lapua (doesn't matter at this point). This thread is in regard to PT&G remy repalcement bolts. What was your experience with them, should I go 1 or 2 piece, is there anything I should specify or ask for when ordering, what was involved with fitting and truing to the action?. Any knowlege and experiences would be appreciated thank you.

IIRC a member on this site is a distributor so I'm assuming he would be able to bring them over. I hope.

I am the only canadian distributor for Pacific Tool and Gauge if you want you can call Dave Kiff and ask him personally 1-541-826-5808
Others are buying and reselling his products which is OK and many product are bought direct by others, but i do have some exclusive products with Dave

I have been working with Dave for almost 3 years now trying to get bolts in to Canada Legally.
Dave does not have an export permit to date for Bolts so any that are being sold as Remington replacement bolts are being brought in with out the proper paperwork .(ilegally)

Hey Winchester 070, you were the member I was referring to actually. So does this mean you can bring them in or not.

JD here is the story, I have submitted 4 International Import Certificates so far over the past 3 years. Dave has been expanding so rapidly and staff has been changing a lot. A couple of the permits had to be changed but i think the last ones have just been put on the back burner . Dave has assured me that we are on track again and i will follow up with this on Monday as i have been a bit slack too....
So in short no not right now, but soon...... i have been telling some customers that for 2 years :(.
I will announce it on Gunnutz as soon as permits are approved.

Thanks Gary

Thanks for clarifying that Gary, I was not aware of the situation. I guess I and a few other will have to wait the permit approvals. Again, thank you for your time,

JD

PTG - illegal? Hardly.

All the items I offer are legally imported.

I look forward to having an easier and less expensive process to access these products so I wish Winchester 070 all the best in getting his business set up.

Look forward to your dealer and inventory list. Hopefully, we can now access many of these tools without the long waiting time. I have a need for a number of reamers. If you have some available, please send me a PM with pricing and we can get some ordered.

"PTG - illegal? Hardly."

Jerry , If you would take the time to read the post before you reply with a comment like that......
the post reffered to bolts ... PTG does not have an export permit in place for bolts unless you are better informed than myself or the owner of Pacific Tool and Gauge (Dave Kiff)
As far as most PTG products people can buy from me , direct from PTG or from whomever they want . I offer PTG products at a fair price and in lots of cases cheaper than buying direct from PTG.

He would send them up previously but without bolt handle attached.
That's what I was told a year ago also by Dave. I don't know if that's changed and haven't ordered any bolts from him recently. His logic was the bolt in pieces are not complete and not considered a firearm part. Nobody is complaining yet.

And to be honest winchester_070 is great to deal with and I hope he gets his permits soon. What he doesn't have I call Dave after.

Don't want to step on any toes here , but I have to agree with Winchester_70 not that I disagree with mystic, I had some Sako extractor price out with pacific tool and dies, is $21usd but Winchester price one out for 23can, that is a good price, having purchase dozen of item mostly reamer and gauge, I got to say his price is excellent very hard to beat.

As requested before, send me your dealer info. It is far better for me to do business with a Can supplier that has the pipeline already established.

The best way to be the main source for any product is TO BE the best and easiest way to source that product.

I look forward to your info...

Jerry
