Ok, so lets use this thread to share our opinions of what you prefer, and why.

I own both, and I still cant figure out which one to run.

I use to have a AFG and a Inforce WML Loved it.

I played with a Surefire 900V, LOVE it.

AFG, more compact,

pistol seems more comfortable.

I'm going to assume that's a typo and you meant vertical grip. Honestly, the only setups where I use a vertical grip now are on my PDWs were there's just not enough rail to give a proper handhold. Otherwise I find myself just using hand stops and an assortment of rail protectors. This tends to offer a better gripping surface for me with a substantial weight reduction.

On that note, my favourite vertical grip is the LaRue LT-Fug; Gear Sector for hand stops and sling mounts; Tango Down panels, low profile Magpul ladder protectors and LaRue index clips for rail protection.

well, lets try not to make fun of the topic. I personally dont like how Chris Costa holds his AR. I tried it. Takes me more effort to hold my hand in the scorpion position. LOL

vertical grip allows me to support my hand against my body. Seems to be less tiring lol.

Oddly enough, I was curious about the AFG2 after reading the article on Canadian Black Rifle Magazine's website, so I ordered one. Finally tried it out today. Previously I was using a CAA vertical grip. I was skeptical going in about the AFG2 but the science seemed sound, so I decided it was worth shelling out the money to try one, since I didn't know anyone that owned one that I could borrow.

The AFG2 was more comfortable in general, and my hand and wrist did not get as tried/strained during sustained firing. I did about fifty double taps and it worked well for me. I was definitely faster getting back on target for my follow up shot (muzzle didn't climb as much) than I was with the vertical grip. I didn't push it to see how long I could go before my hand/wrist got tired but I know when I was using the vertical grip I would start feeling it before I got to the end of ten rounds.

I encourage you to try one out and see what you think for yourself, but in my case it worked out really well and I can't see myself going back to the vertical grip now.

I tried my AFG1 for the first time over the weekend. So far I like it. Dry fire practice at home definitely helped but the grip feels natural.

There will be times, especially with fast mag changes, that I will drop back to the magwell grip but most of the time the forward reach for the AFG will be what I use.

In all seriousness the AFG2 does look like it works well and provides features of the handstop and vertical grip. You can use it to pull the rifle into your shoulder or with a bit of forward pressure you can lighten felt recoil. It also allows you to get that "high competition" grip with your thumb above the bore without your fingers getting bound up in the 90 degree angle where the rail/vertical grip meet. I still don't know if I'm gonna run that or a "stubby" Tango Down vertical grip.
