high end AR-15's

Fair enough...in the spirit of the OP's original question (and not the name of the thread)...my top 5 (in no particular order)
1. Colt
2. Noveske
3. KAC
4. BCM
5. HK
I choose them as they're all proven in industry. As well, I've had the pleasure of firing/owning all of them (except Noveske).

I'll admit that the title/question could be construed as being somewhat ambiguous.

i dont mean anyone to argue about which is high end and low end, im sure even expensive firearms break parts that arent supposed to and less expensive firearms last an eternity without breaking, everyone does awesome points of what they favor in manufacturers and all have been taken to account in my next purchase, what if an AR was built from from all the best parts of each manufacturer do you al think it would be worth it to do it that way or to buy a factory built rifle? and also what berrel size does everyone suggest?

What are you expecting/planning to do with it?

As for buying/building and AR, if its your first one, go buy a decent mid range priced AR (LMT, Stag, etc.), shoot it a lot and find out where you want to go. Don't get caught up in the whole idea of something being "topofthelinemilspec". 99% of the time, it doesn't matter. Get a decent, well made AR and shoot it. Questar still has some LMT's at great prices (under $1600).

Just what I wanted to hear. Heard nothing but great things from PWS MK1 series and I'm leaning towards the MK114 BUT I also like the SR15 for the ambi but not sure it's worth $700 over the PWS. Been reading Dmack's review on snipershide who ran a PWS through 17,300 rnds before noticing failure to eject and found out from PWS that he was supposed to clean the piston tube after every 5k-7k rnds.

Yeah, I heard Derek had run 18000 or so rounds down the pipe in a year and Todd told him that it was showing no appreciable wear. I took a peek into mine and it doesn't even look like it's been fired, well, besides the powder and copper shavings...

It is also very well decked out with MOE magpul product.

i curently have a rock river arms LAR-15 pistol ( my second one ),every mount is larue and every other accesory is magpul,in my previous statement above this one i mentioned that i have poured a gross amount of money into it, mainly cause i was not knowledagable on prices and information, i came to see that i may have bought maybe 2 rifles in stead of having just one, i dont shooti it much as i dont have much spare time, as i like to collect and to one day have a large collection to someday pass on to my kids, so all the information i can collect the better so i dont feel like i ahve made a bad retail mistake again.

Armalite rifles are pretty nice.. wipe them down with a bit of CLP and they look amazing, as do the LMT's and Stag...etc. You would be impressed with an Armalite rifle... they are at a fantastic price point right now, escpecially the AR10
