Sig p210

I've had a P-210 Legend Target on order with Seth for some time. I think they are shipping those by rowboat. Congratulations on getting your gun and posting the pictures. Luckily I'm in Texas or I would be camped out at Lantz's front door :p

X-Five / P-210

sell my Xfive for P210...?????

I too have an X-Five. Mine is the Allround in DA/SA .40. Mine has had a trip to Bruce Gray and so is about as good as that gun gets.

That said, the P-210 Legend is a very different gun. I doubt that I would have purchased an old school Swiss P-210 primarily because of the issues that are always discussed when talking about those guns. Now that the Legend addresses the safety, magazine and hammer bite points, to me it is a very different than the Swiss models at least for my purposes.

I locked into the X-Five because it was "best in class" to my way of thinking and now I will enjoy its predecessor but without the warts.

Great pistol, it's the modernized version with an extended beavertail and magazine thumb release. I have the old school one. Need to post some pics.

Have you compared it side by side with the original Swiss version? I'd love to see the new one in person.

Old and New

Quite a few have. There is plenty to read if you are up to it. Possibly the best source of information on the Swiss P-210 is Michael Zeleny AKA Lavatus. He reviewed the Legend when it first arrived and was critical. He may have modified his opinions as improvements have since been made. I suggest going to the SIG forum and doing a search for P-210 threads. You may read more than you really need as the P-210 purists are very, very detailed in their knowledge of the gun since its design in the 40's. I don't think I would be too far out of line if I said that the consensus would be that the Legend is a fine pistol. Getting agreement in that camp is like blaspheming the name of J.M. Browning on the 1911 forums. The conservatives in both the P-210 and 1911 groups make Rush Limbullcrap sound liberal.

Magazines

I could easily be wrong but I think the gun ships with two. Part of the reason why the Swiss gun was a challenge to own was the cost and availability of magazines. I've seen them priced at over $150.00 used.

The cost of Legend mags has come down just in the past few months. They still aren't cheap and sell in the US for around $60.00.
