When Savage brought out the Accustock a few years back it sounded like a great idea. After hearing all the negative comments, and having watched Savage do a quick re-design to eliminate the wedge, it seems less so.

What's the concensus here? A significant step up? Or still a long way from a traditional aluminum-bedded HS, McMillan, or other aftermarket piece?

The accustock doesn't flex, the theory behind it actually looks okay, it just makes more sense to have a one off bedding job made to each barreled action like we all do.

Yeah, that's the same thing I notice on my Rem 700 SPS Tactical. If I'm really consistent with my cheek weld, grip tension, etc its not too bad but I really need to stiffen it up somehow. I'm not too keen about spending $400 on a new stock for a $600 rifle.

So how did they screw it up? Seriously, it's a hunk of aluminum embedded in a plastic stock, designed to keep the stock from flexing...how can that not work?

Too bad...very disappointing. Thanks for the input.

jamie, I'm not defending nor condemning the accustock but you cannot change your shooting technique that much, loading and unloading the bipod, and not expect a poi change. Good shooting btw.

yes point taken but when i can push with one finger on the grip of a the stock and see it flex with my eyes....it flexes :D
