I bought my first bolt action a couple years ago, a Remington 700 SPS Tactical .223. I used it to learn how to shoot and to reload, and was very happy with it but it was time for some upgrades.
After reading all the tech info on Mystic Precision site I decided to talk to Jerry about a barrel and a build. With Terry from Black Art Rifle, this is what we came up with;
My 700 action, trued, lapped lugs, trued boltface, etc,etc. The works.
SS Shillen Select Match 1/7, throated for 90gr, finished at 28"
EGW bolt knob, and new recoil lug.
I bought the AICS last year from Wolverine.
I'm using a Bushnell 6500 4.5-30x50 tactical, sitting on a 20 moa Talley.
Rings are Burris Zee Signature with inserts, using 10 moa.
I will bed it this week and replace the trigger soon. All in good time.
I met Terry on Saturday at the Chilliwack gun show, he brought my rifle down with him. How good is that? He's a great guy to deal with, very personable and great communication.
Jerry from Mystic Precision and Terry from Black Art Rifle are both great to deal with, thank you to both for walking a newb through the painless process of a build. I should have done it sooner.
I took some load data from Jerry's test firing, just so I could fire the gun.

I'll work up a load to get me to 1000, but today I just wanted to shoot.
This was the 2nd five shot group, it was cold, wet and windy. I had to lash the tent down to the log in one of the pics and shoot between gusts, but it was worth it....
I didn't have a dime, and the penny makes the group look smaller.
