I couldn't get comfy with the wood stock so I tossed this frankenstein together for a whopping total of $60. Still gota find a trigger guard, but it's pretty much finished.
It has an alluminum body that weighs less than the original wood. Adjustable buttplate, extendable stock, and a quick detatch bipod... it's fugly but it fits like a glove. I have a feeling my groups are gona tighten.
All done with a hand drill, file and hacksaw. Only broke 2 bits
UPDATE:
Ok so a few of you were curious as to how the new stock would affect the accuracy... well, I'm getting the same groups as usual, but I can print em out a bit faster, and a bit farther down range.
So yes, accuracy has improved, but I believe it's only due to the fact that I can now grip and steady the rifle better. I have no idea how the new harmonics/vibrations/free floating bla bla bla.... affects the rifle because i'm not good enough of a shot to determine that, especially at the short distance I shoot.
I didn't have much of my rifles favorite brand of ammo on hand, so not too many cloverleafs for bragging rights... but here you are.
CCI Target (rifles fav ammo) 40 yards. 3-5 shot groups.
Bottom right was cci mini mags.
I'll blame my poor shooting on this piece of junk that snapped during the session. I never learn, buying this chinese garbage
Oh well, an excuse to finally spend the $$ on a harris.
