Some folks can't see the forest for the trees and drink too much of the koolaid and commercialism...
Some folks don't want to mess around working on guns, I can understand that. But those same folks shouldn't be so quick to $hit on some of the Norinco products...
That's one I spent alot of time with. It's had just about everything done to it internally to enhance reliability as per Jerry Kuhnhausen's 1911 book. On the outside I spent many hours in front of the bench buffer and dremel buffers. Hand cut front strap checkering courtesy of a buddy of mine (8 hours in total for that) and likely close to 8 hours by me with the buffers. I've used the original forged parts rather than switch them out for Wilson Combat castings like I did on the Colt

CZ grips and the S&A magwell were the only things I've added to this Norinco. You will not find a sharp edge nor a machine mark on the outside of this gun. I finished it with a black parkerize.
This Norinco has been absolutely flawless in function, both before and after I worked it. I wish I could say the same of my beautiful Colt

The issue with the Colt as far as I'm concerned is an out of spec frame/feed ramp. I beleive it would require machining to the frame to address the issue with this gun. It was manufactured in the late 80's to early 90's, bought by me barely used in 1994. The Colt is factory bright stainless finish. I've had reliability issued with it since I've owned it. It wears CZ grips, Chip Mcormick match hammer & sear, Dlask trigger, Wilson Combat grip safety (I polished to match), BarSto match barrel & bushing, full lenth guide rod.
The Norinco may not shoot as tight of group as the my Colt but it could be made to do so and reliability has been perfect
I can certainly appreciate fluffy's or pittles, or whatever the cat's name is Norinco. If anyone has apportunity to actually work on or work with Norinco frames & parts they will appreciate what they are. I have seen first hand the difference between these parts and the Wilson Combat grip safety I polished and fitted to my Colt
