Geez FFS, you think it would be easy as pie to find one. It's not a gun part its a god damn thread protector M16x1 LH

The dealers that have them instock are all, "no we can't ship to Canada" I'm like, "are you serious its a god damn thread protector!" FFS what a day...

Any help with this one guys?

PM sent about the thread protector.

OH!....and you beating me to the USPCT may actually have been a good thing for me... Update to followw.....:D

This might be a good time to ask what is the best gook to put on the threads so the protector doesn't back off and get lost? Gasket sealer? anti-seize?? something else?

In the meantime you could wrap it with black tape (or god forbid Duct tape), 2-3 layers should provide protection while you find a metal one.

You might want to confirm your ability to disassemble barrel from slide with the thread protector attached before you glue it in place.

Couldn't find one at EGW, they would ship. There's a tap on Brownell's if you feel industrious.

Well finally I got somewhere...

I was able to buy the H&K OEM thread protectors from Numrich Gun Parts in New York. The only problem, it was $32.50 to ship. I called in and the lady that handles international orders was nice enough to discount the shipping to a flat $25. To make it worth while I got 2 for $79 bucks shipped, I guess that's not so bad afterall...

Still not the one I originally wanted, I don't think the H&K ones are as nice but at this point I'm happy to just get something that will work...

The HK thread protector on my MK23 has a green O-ring inside it.

All I do is turn it on with light, 'hand tight' pressure. It has never backed off due to the O-ring.

I would be reluctant to use any liquid thread sealers, perhaps a turn or two of teflon tape. However, if you get the correct end cap with the O-ring, you require nothing.
