Hey all.

What kind of ammo would you guys recommend for a 10.5" barrelled Norinco?

Something that will function reliably and that one can afford to buy in larger numbers?

Not afraid to spend bigger $$ in the beginning for a "break in" period type thing, either.

Know cheapest is not necessarily the best...............

Mine liked everything.
It was my most reliable rifle ever.
Even the 858 and SKSs jammed once in a blue moon.

She was not even picky about slightly out of spec reloads.
Too bad I sold her to pay the bills.:(

Mine really likes the PMC 55gr, does not seem to like the winchester 55gr white box and hates the 45 Varmits

Working on some loads with IMR 4320 witha 55gr lake city bullet, seems 22.8grs gets the best so far, will be trying more loads this weekend.

Max Owner,

55 PMC Bronze. If a firearm likes this stuff it shoots like match grade. The price is comparable to American eagle Tactical. Fireball had a 14.5" Norc that I saw him shoot 1" moa at 100 metres using a 3" moa dot off a bipod. Granted I'm sure it was a fluke :p, but that being said if your firearm likes it, then it shoots very well. My Remington 700 223 VSSFII shoots this stuff one small hole at 100 yards. It's good stuff.

Thanx guys.

Read in another thread where it was suggested that the MFS stuff was an underpowered load causing functional issues.

Don't want to buy a 1,000 rounds to find out she knowa work.

I just bought 1,000 rounds Fed from Reliable Gun last night (Thanks again Hermes), haha, hope I don't have issues.....I had some probs with MFS in my Norc M14 though....

I use TBRWLF customs. H335, 23.5 gr under 55 gr Remington cheap FMJ.

My gun loves them and cycles without issue.

Once you start reloading you just can't stop.

I roll my own. I've got a .223 that I hunt and pretend to be accurate with, so I already have the components. A new head for my Dillon, and I pop-out 200-400 rounds per hour. (Obviously, unless I get into Service Rifle, an hour's worth of effort will do me all Summer :)

Otherwise, yes, whatever you can buy in the lowest-prices, bulk pack. You don't have to be accurate with it, just make it go "bang", to have fun :)

I've used Fiocchi, Fed, Privi and WWB - also some PMC green tip and have had no issues. Most of the issues I hear about involve shooting MFS, particularly in cold weather. Note that I've run these five through both a 14.5 and a 10.5 upper.

Mine isn't picky at all. It eats everything I feed it and prints them all nicely on a paper. MFS will group well in mine, but will take an hour of cleaning after I'm done. I haven't yet ventured above 55gr ammo though.
