hi

I have 6 months old Beretta 12g SP III O/U and I am finding that the choke tube screwing into the upper barrel is not smooth and has friction, bottom barrel is fine.

I have cleaned, lubricated the threads on gun and choke but all 5 chokes have the same problem friction and sticking while screwing in or out. But all chokes install friction free and smoothly into the bottom barrel.

Should I just take it back to the shop as it still has warranty or am I doing something wrong? any ideas suggestions.

I'd take it back, did you ever clean it with the choke out and a brass brush? If so you may have lodged a piece of brass in the thread.

Thank you Winchested. Took it back to Stoeger Canada and yes the over barell choke threading is not properly finished but they will have to send it to a special shop for rethreeding.

Anyone know where can I direct my customer service gripe if the Stoeger Canada is not coming through with a warranty service.

Basically, I left the gun with them in March to fix the choke threading as warranty repair and they won;t give me when it will be fixed and it now coming up to three months
