Ok Folks, what would you consider the most accurate Factory 308 rifle available today in Canada. No customs, and no consideration for cost.

Reading about different platforms is obviously informative if you read the right info from the right source, which at times can be challenging to find in the first place. Obviously I have read a lot of info about a lot of different rifles, and now the pursuit begins.

Is there a Factory 308 that is a real standout and is winning Competitions in Europe, or Asia or North America, that isn't getting exposure? Is there some hidden Gem out there that I am missing?

I want to buy a 308 and want the absolute most accurate factory rifle I can find.

Right now, my info points to the Unique Alpine.

When asked this question I usually say the Sako TRG 22. I have owned two ( still have one; the 20" version ) and know many others who own one of these fine rifles - I have never heard of one that doesn't shoot half-minute with match loads and all shoot sub moa no matter the ammo fed through it.

would love to know how the pgw compares to the TRG in all weather conditions. I am very familiar with TRG's, never handled a pgw.

PGW is as close to "factory" rifle as a Maseratti (sp) is to a Major Car Manufacturer.

PGW is a custom, in house, built action with custom barrel (Kreiger) and aftermarket triggers.

Tikka or Sako have a 1moa Guarantee, no other factory offering gives this.

I thought Cooper guarantees 1/2 moa ..

I'd take look at the Tikka Sporter if your in the market. The price is right, it looks like it's basically a Tikka Tac with a nicer stock (had one in hand two days ago, being poor sucks). A friend has the Tac and it shoots great. I had a Varmint in .222 Rem that would shoot 1/4 MOA with the right load.

No offence ment, the TRG is without a doubt a great rifle, but I'd like to see the rifle that can shoot any factory load under 1 MOA. It's the only way you'd make me believe it exists.

I know what you are saying, but PGW is factory in that the OP would not have to mess around with a smith, or the depreciation associated with a custom rifle, which I think is what the OP is going for. The OP calls Unique Alpine factory for example.

I have 3 factory rifles that shoots .5 MOA...If I do my part...With reloads.

Tikka Tac in .308

T/C Icon Precision Hunter in .308

CZ 550 Varmint in .308

I have tried about 10 others,Savages,Rem 700Varmint all kind,Rem 700 5R,700P,Ruger and Browning...etc.All of them can print .5 MOA but not regularly.

My range is topped at 200 Meters too...

Anyone have any experience with some of the European offerings? The new Anschutz, Bleiker, hk psg. I should clarify. I shoot a walther 308 heavy Barrel, and sako trg's. I really am looking for something more accurate and factory. I do not want to go custom

I had an HS Precision HTR (Heavy Tactical Rifle) .308 that was the most accurate of all the rifles I've owned - which have mostly been heavy barrel long range target/tac type rifles. Way more accurate than my ATR custom. Better than any of the Savages (I love Savage, have had somewhere near 10, some great shooters, but...), Remingtons, Tikka's (and an A7 Sako) that I've owned. I sold it to move UP to a custom and that was a gigantic mistake.
