Anyone else? I never did it before the money got tight. Now I can't stop, hate to waste anything now that may shoot well. It wouldn't be so bad but for an old wrist injury from a bike crash...where's the Naproxen!!!

I dont understand? why are you pulling bullets?

If the first five looked like it came from my 12 ga. the next five stay in the box. My stock pile is dwindeling, so out with the puller. The fact that they are .224's doesn't help. I don't mind heavy .30's, one good whack and it's out. On a high note 208 A-Max and 75.8 gr of Retumbo seated just into the lands, just a hair over 1/2" at 100. Going to Madoc later in the week to get some distance.

Does the collet type damage the bullet?

The truly irritating part is 69 gr SMK's shoot great but I'm out. I even have a good load. The problem is I have these 75 gr Hdy BTHP sitting on my bench. The first group I fired out of the Remington looked real sweet but it was a light load. They keep saying they want to go Fasta!!! I'm just trying to make them happy.

Back on with the wrist wrap, 13 to go...

Sounds like you're using an inertia type bullet puller. If that is the case, lose it and get a press mounted puller that uses the various size collets. They work much better than those hammers, and are a lot easier on the wrist.

Savage112, what brand press mounted puller do you have? I thought there was only inertia type pullers so I just fix the problem by sending projectiles down range. I would be interested in getting a press mounted setup.

Thanks

Not if you set it up correctly. I used the hammer-style inertia puller for about 10 years before I went to a collet puller. I'll never go back! So much easier, quicker, and less messy than the hammer puller.

The Hornady Cam-Lock is very affordable and works great.
